Story ICC World Twenty20 - UAE 2012: End of Match 1

The 2012 ICC World Twenty20 is the fourth ICC World Twenty20 competition and for the very first time the ICC event has been scheduled in United Arab Emirates and also the World Twenty20 tournament in an Asian country. England will be defending their title in this event. The format is the same as the 2010 edition. The format will see four groups of three in a preliminary round. Apart from the ten test cricket playing nations, there will be a further two associate/affiliate teams who would qualify from the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier. The ICC development committee had expanded the global qualification system for the World Twenty20, to give the Associate and Affiliate members of the governing body a chance to feature in the tournament. Netherlands and Afghanistan have made it through the top 12. India, South Africa and Australia are considered as the favorites of the tournament although theres a tough competition among all the teams.

FORMAT​

The format is the same as the 2010 edition. The format will see four groups of three in first round. The top two teams from each group will proceed to the Super Eight stage of the tournament. The Super Eight will consist of two groups. The top two teams from the two Super Eight groups would play the semi-finals, and the semi-final winners would contest the final, to be played at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium​

But as far as the final is concerned, why would ICC make Abu Dhabi to host it leaving its own, brand new ICC GCA?
Something fishy Ahad, might be PCB have bribed ICC for getting bit more of support, it at all they make it into final

Nice to know a major ICC event is set to take place in the UAE. I feel it will be a decent tournament, with a fair upsets. By taking a look at Pakistan's group, Bangladesh will be the main threat. Pakistan will have to be very very wary of a spirited Bangladesh side wanting to cause an upset over them or England, and cause havoc in the group.
