I think that Saurav Ganguly was the better option instead of Ravi shastri as we all know that Delhi capitals who always finish last at playoffs in IPL but this time when saurav ganguly was the head coach of Delhi, Not only Delhi capitals make there way to playoffs but also they manage to win a playoff match which never happened before with the team of youngster
And ravi shastri didn't even know that who is to be send in semi final when the team collapse

Ganguly is not the head coach, he works as an advisor to the team. Ricky Ponting is the head coach at Delhi Capitals. Another reason why they actually made it to the playoffs last time around is because they actually did decently at the auction after a long time. They also had some very good T20 players in their line-up.

Looks like Easwaran and Panchal found the worst possible moment to lose form. :facepalm

At least Gill keeps piling on the runs. If the Rohit experiment is terminated as expected by Rabada, Gill should be the opener moving forward until Shaw comes back. In an ideal scenario, we find our opening pair for the next 10-15 years in Shaw and Gill.

It is frustrating how KL Rahul has been treated so far especially in white ball cricket. He is probably one of our best white ball players right now and he is not in the final 11 of any white ball formats. He has rightly got dropped from test team because he didn't do anything special. However, that doesn't mean he should be out of limited overs as well. He should be opening in T20 cricket for India and ideally wanted him at number 4 in ODI's.

It is a good news indeed but it feels like there is a bigger picture involved with central government interfering everywhere possible. Hopefully Ganguly keeps his head on his shoulders while being the BCCI president.

That is something I am not happy about as well. I also heard that to get a BCCI president even Srini mama joined hands and played a big role to get back the power. It definitely is a power move but having Ganguly a cricketer run a cricket organization is what I am hoping will do good wonders for Indian cricket. As you mentioned let us see what sort of interference the government does and what role do they play. I would hate for us to become like Pakistan whose decisions are directly made by the Prime Minister.

As far as I remember Ganguly is a big fan of Kohli the Captain. I felt people over here thought that Kohli being a Captain is a hurdle towards India's progress in Cricket. And now I am seeing people supporting Ganguly being the BCCI President. Doesn't it sound hypocritical if we relate all 3 things together ?

I think captain Kohli is one of the smaller worries for Indian cricket at the moment. We are still performing well, so not a lot of boards would take Kohli to task since in the end the numbers are there.

The bigger issues for Indian cricket are at the administrative level and I think Ganguly could do a fine job there. Only time will tell though. He was the one to pull Indian cricket out of doldrums after match fixing saga - and is one of the key elements who has responsible for the success that Kohli's XI is achieving currently. Hoping for him to right the wrongs in the administration are natural and he will have to do some real good work to meet the already sky high expectations. But if there was ever a cricketer, who could do this job, it would be Ganguly. He has the right balance of cricket and politics in him to handle such a high profile and tricky post.

I would also like to add to it that Ganguly is also responsible for the development of fast bowlers in our Country. He was the one who initiated the use of pitches which had bounce and carry and had a bit of lateral movement in Indian conditions. This is the reason why we see a seaming pitch when we play a Test match at Eden Gardens. You are absolutely on point though. I am sure he would definitely do some work when it comes to the distribution of powers in the BCCI. So definitely a step towards moving the Indian Cricket in the right direction.
