You discard Dhawan altogether,then bring him back as your 8th effing captain in as many series. To top it,Jadeja is the deputy. The very same Jadeja who couldn't handle the pressures of leading an IPL franchise may well become India's next captain here. (Given the injury toll, I wouldn't be surprised)

Now, why is Rohit not playing? Wasn't he announced as the captain earlier. Remember,he is supposed to be India's all format captain who hasn't led the country ever since his appointment. Why has he been rested here? If the series is deemed inconsequential,then pay the fine and don't send in a joke of a team.

Thirdly, might as well keep rotating coaches too. Let the captain also contend with a new coach every series. As it is, the likes of Sehwag, Nehra want to coach the side. Throw in some international names and you'll have a great variety to choose from, for the World Cup.

He was appointed as the Captain in November 2021, since then he has led India in 9 T20Is, 3 ODIs & 2 Tests.

Why has he been rested here?

Well maybe this is the frustration because of a handful of Rohit Sharma fans on social media consistently talk about his winning streak (been tired of hearing it myself) that is been released over here.

But I don't think people care about it enough on this forum. They just needed a new Captain and that is why they rejoiced Rohit's appointment at first.

Hypocrisy: We can't have different captains for different formats. That won't work in India. So we are removing Virat from captaincy in limited overs and hand it over to Rohit.

Same BCCI has now used more number of captains in short period of time. Pant, Bumrah, Dhawan, Rohit, KLR, Hardik. Am I missing someone?
