It's the natural progression of the game. I don't mind it, but I don't like to see it as the primary plan of attack. It was just shown by Isa Guha.

EDIT: Pitching it up is far better, I do agree.

50-ish as the lead? Saini is gone. The most awesome-est named player is still around though. Washington needs to farm the strike until play is over for today. Then...I'm serious, declare with a deficit. Let Australia set a target, they're the ones on the back foot here.

Siraj don't just bowl it seems, take your time young fella, calm down...

Right, that's probably the end of the Indian resistance there. I...sort of...do need to be awake in less than 4 hours, so I'm out for a while what with work and everything.

Superb effort by Washington Sundar!

Deserves every bit of applaud for the innings he played today! Top Stuff!

So 336 it is then with lead of 33 to Australia.

India would have taken it anyday after 186/6 now last 2 days of the series of what is probably one of the most enthralling series ever.

I swear this is one of the best series I've seen in the modern day. This is Test cricket. And I'm actually going to bed now, I do need the power sleep for the three hours but I don't regret seeing out the Indian innings at all. 33 or so is the lead?

Major partnership between two guys who have like 2 Tests between them.

Everytime they say do away with Test cricket, there are matches like these...

Can not understand why anyone wants to do away with TEST cricket. This series has been enthralling as was the Ashes as will be the return series in India in 2022.

50 lead by Australia at stumps. It was looking like far more when Rahane tossed away his wicket.

Superb batting by Washington and Thakhur. Our tail fetched valuable runs for a change. 50s on debut is commendable :clap

Only if our established batsmen showed the same application....Australia will need to bat out the entire day tomorrow to have a defendable total. I do expect them to score aggressive given that the BG trophy is on the line and the way India have fought tooth and nail since the debacle of the 1st Test only adds spice to the final 2 days of this enthralling series.

What a show by these two.. We were down and out and staring at a massive defeat and they have absolutely changed the stakes. Aussies are still in the drivers seat and can easily coast to a win here but we have a genuine chance of holding them off for a draw now

And in stark contrast of these two positives, our top and middle order has been extremely disappointing. All through the series. Batsmen of Rahane and Pujaras calibre should be scoring 100s and not folding up after getting starts, especially on this wicket. Mayank also threw it away after looking so comfy out there. And Rohit was classic Rohit.. A non sense shot from someone as senior as him and that too when he was batting so effortlessly. We could have had a lead here, but still playing catch up

Hope our bowling can hold up in the second innings. It will be crucial to hold up on both ends and dry out the runs, because warner looks like he has been given the go ahead for outright attack here. And the wicket is definitely good for batting still for anyone willing to take some calculated risks

I do not think that Australia are in driver's seat. The match is infact pretty evenly poised right now. They definitely have an upper hand but are no where close to a dominating position in this match. Also with the weather predictions looming around the match I think India have already made it sure that they have a better chance of holding on to a draw than to lose this one. As an Indian fan, I am not at all worried since somewhere there would be someone to put his hand up for the team. So I am already looking to a 1-1 result now.

Amazing stuff from Washy and Thakur. It's refreshing to see some lower order fight that have even given India a slight chance of a win depending if the bowlers bowl brilliantly tomorrow. Can't ask more from them, it's been incredible to see the way debutants in this series have been able to make an impact on the series on both sides. Pucovski and Green for Oz have played shown some good potential as Test batsmen, and the Indian debutants in this series such as Siraj, Sundar and Thakur . This has been a really enjoyable series to watch.

Although I think Australia have a slight advantage at the moment. The pitch is said to flattened out a lot and Warner is hungry for some runs, and if he gets going the match could slip away. Hopeful for a strong bowling effort tomorrow.

Washington and Shardul kept us in this match with their batting yesterday. It was great to see our lower order batsmen make contributions, which we have been on the receiving end for years now. Warner has started well here, and we just need to show the same discipline that the bowlers have shown so far in this series. If we can keep the run rate in check tomorrow, we might draw this match.

As I have said throughout this series, the character these players have shown after the second inning in Adelaide has been tremendous. Australia has given it their all, and our players have still bounced back every single time. Hopefully, one final push from the boys tomorrow.

Exactly right. If Australia want to win they're going to have to push to get decent enough lead. India has done well at containing the scoring throughout the series. So, that opens the door for India's bowlers.

Ideal scenario is Australia get a lead that's enough to tempt India to chase and could make for a great day 5.
