Saurov Ganguly had won the toss by calling tails and he decided to bowl first on a poor pitch . The lineups were as follows :

Kolkata : 1)Marcus Trescothick 2)Adam Gilchrist 3)Sourav Ganguly 4)Robin Uthappa 5)Misbah ul Huq 6)Dwayne Bravo 7)Shaun Pollock 8)Brett Lee 9)Mohd Rafique 10)Fidel Edwards 11)Jerome Taylor

Hydrebad : 1)Imran Nazir 2)Alaistar Cook 3)Ricky Ponting 4)Michael Clarke 5)VVS Laxman 6)Shoaib Malib 7)Kamran Akmal 8)Chaminda Vaas 9)Stuart McGill 10)Umar Gul 11)Mitchel Johnson

Imran Nazir got to a flyer . He and Cook just destroyed the Kolkata bowling in first two overs but then Kolkata struck back . Cook was clean bowled by the veteran Shaun pollock in the second over . Cook departed for 14 . Ricky ponting didnt last long . He was caught by Gilly in the same over of Pollock for just 5 runs . Suddenly deccan were in trouble at 38/2 . Ganguly took the risk of bring the spinner Rafique on in the 5th over . And the gamble paid fo as Clarke was caught and bowled by Rafique for 3 . Laxman was caught by Gilly of Rafique in the same over for just 6 runs . Nazir and Malik tried to put some runs on the board but all went in vain as Jerome Taylor bowled Nazir for 33 . Kamran Akmal was given leg before of Rafique's bowling and he departed for 4 . Malik and Vaas rotated the strike but Taylor got the main wicket of Malik . Malik departed for 20 and Deccan were 93/7 . Vaas was next one to be out as he edged one to Gilly of Rafique and Vaas went for 16 . MacGill was clean bowled by a yorker of Edwards for 11 and soon later Bravo claimed his first as he wrapped Gull for 7 . With this Hydrebad were all out for 123 in 17 overs .

124 was a bit tricky to chase on this pitch but with the start they got from Gilly and Trescothick it was never gonna be hard . Trescothick got Kolkata of to a flyer by scoring 19 runs of the first over of Johnson . But soon Vaas struck and got rid of Trescothick for 20 of 8 balls . Gilly and capatain Ganguly put a huge partnership of 86 runs which just included 1 six and 3 fours . Deccan bowlers bowl a good line and length and made runs difficult for this two left handers . Gilly just fell short of his half century as he was stumped by Kamran Akmal of malik's bowling . Ganguly was run out in the same over as he departed for 38 . Misbah ul Huq scored just 4 runs before he was caught at mid wickt by Punter of Malik . Bravo came in hit 2 bowundaries in 2 balls and finished the match . Kolkata had won by 6 wickets and 6 balls .

Well it was the pitched which played spoil sport as we where not able to see a huge total . But Deccan bowlers bowled well in right areas .

Mohd Rafique was given the Man of the Match award for taking 4 wickets . Here are the points for the man of the series award

M.Rafique - 3pts
A.Gilchrist - 2pts
S.Malik - 1 pts

Kolkata had won the match comfortabley by 6 wickets . Ganguly and co looked very happy after their second win but Deccan had a lot to take from this loss as they have the most economical bowlers in their side .

Next match : Mumbai Indians vs Bangalore Royal Challengers so please post ur squads today itself :D

Its funny the similarity in IPl and this series

1) DC were poor in both
2) KKR and DC game was actual the same in real life too
3) RBC are test team in this series too

I think the Mumbai team have had far too long to post up their XI. I think you should make the choices/changes yourself Shantanu.
