Progress report of 3 day warmup match.

Mumbai v Australians 3 day match at Mumbai

Mumbai lost wickets steadily to be 82/5 before allrounder Sutar got them out of trouble with a fighting 67.
Mazumdar and Mhambrey also added valuable runs to allow Mumbai to declare at Tea on Day 2.
Stuart MacGill bowled superbly to take 6-98 in an ubroken 26 over spell.
Warne was innefective on a good batting pitch and the other bowlers did little of note.

Nixon McLean is injured for the first 2 matches of the tour, you may add another seam bowler as backup to your 17 man squad to cover for him if you like.
Just choose someone from the original list of players I gave you if you want to add a player as cover.

Pitch:
This pitch could be pretty lively for at least the first morning, and is likely to stay fast
paced well into the second day. Thereafter batting should present no great perils at least
until the final stages when the bounce may become a problem.

Weather - Hot and sunny

Australians 2nd Innings

Hayden and Langer got the Australians off to a good start again, adding 64 for the first wicket.
Hayden powered to his 2nd century of the match in partnership with Ponting who made up for his first innings failure with an unbeaten 79*.
The pair added an unbroken 183 run partnership for the 2nd wicket before Australian captain Steve Waugh declared.
Mumbai were set a target of 278 off a minimum of 69 overs.

Here is the scorecard of Mumbai's 2nd innings.

Mumbai v Australians 3 day First Class match at Mumbai

Set 278 in 69 overs, Mumbai made a gallant attempt, eventually falling 20 runs short at 258/8.
Tendulkar and Kambli shared what seemed to be a match winning partnership, but Gillespie dismissed Tendulkar on his way to 4-44 to spark a collapse.
Kambli finished with an unbeaten hundred and Tendulkar 92 as the match ended in a draw.
