Hi,
South Africa's most popular cricketer Lance "Zulu" Klusener has been berated by new captain Graeme Smith. Apparantly he is an individual rather then team member, and isnt very friendly to young members in their team.
Zulu was kidnapped as a chilld and raised by blacks during the Apertheid era. His first language is Zulu hence his nickname. He is looked down apon by his teamates.
As you guys probobly know, Whites and blacks genaerally dont get along very well in South Africa. Just like in their cricket team. Zulu is looked down on by white teamates because he has a black temperment, and prefers the Black culture to White. The blacks in the team dislike him because he is white, but "acts" like he is black.
Klusener has always been My favourte player, other the Jonty, probobly because they are both from Natal.
Would like to hear you thoughts on the matter.

According to what I've read Klusener was simply brought up amongst black children, not kidnapped (quite a serious allegation). His first language isn't Zulu, he just happnes to be able to speak it fluently. Heath Streak of Zimbabwe had a similar upbringing and speaks the native Zimbabwe language fluently.

And whats wrong with preferring black culture to white?

And are you saying that cricketers in the South African team are racist?

I think a lot of people could be offended by what you've said.

Klusener was kidnaped. His first language is Zulu hence his nickname. And blacks and white GENERALLY do not get on in South Africa. SOME DO GET ALONG, SOME DONT.

Sorry my mistake he was not kidnapped, but he was brought up with blacks. His parents were hacked to death.

Changing the story tends to be the first sign of something being made up..... I'm sure you can direct me to somewhere I can read about this?

Hey Believe what you want. I dont know where to go on the internet. My parents told me.

Doesn't mean it's true.

This is from Lance Kluseners Cricketer of the year profile in the Wisden Almanack 2000

Lance Klusener was born in Durban on September 4 1971. He grew up on his parents sugar cane farm, and would retain the independence and shyness of a country boy. His companions were largly the children of black farm workers, with whom he talked in Zulu and played garden games of football and cricket. His team-mates still call him "Zulu". Though his father played polo, sport did not feature large in the family.

It then goes on to describe his early career. Nothing about being kidnapped or his parents being hacked to death.

No offence but your parents are talking a load of bollocks.
