[World Cricket Conference]

The 2000 CONOC Nations Cup, simply known as the Nations Cup was the inaugural edition of the top-tier 50-over Oceanian championship of cricket.
Australia played hosts to the inaugural edition of the Nations Cup with the tournament having been played from December 10 to 17.​

CONOC confirmed three venues for the 2000 Nations Cup: Adelaide Oval, Melbourne Cricket Ground and Sydney Cricket Ground.

These were the rules set in place by the Confederation of Oceanian Cricket for the Nations Cup.

Squads

Each participating member nation was required to name a 15-player squad at the start of the tournament.
No upgrades could be spent to improve players mid-tournament; upgrades must be made during squad announcement.

Lineups

Playing XIs were required to contain at least one capable wicket-keeper (//) and six bowling (//) options.

Format

Four teams were placed in a single group where they played the other three teams - once.
The top-two teams at the end of the group stage advanced to the Nations Cup final.

The final of the 2000 Nations Cup was played at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Points System

Points were awarded using the following system during the group stage:

Win: 3 points / Tie: 2 points / N/R: 1 point / Loss: 0 points

Player Injuries

Injuries were randomly simulated to give this league somewhat of a realistic edge.
Players that played without a rest were more likely to get injured.

Following were the types of injuries:

- Heals fully after a one-game rest

Degree 2

* Can play with a 50% ratings decrease; 75% chance of developing a Degree 3 injury

* Out for one game; instantly made unavailable
- Can play one game early with a 50% ratings decrease upon return. Heals fully after a two-game rest.

Degree 4

* Out for two to three games; instantly made unavailable
- Can play one game early with a 25% ratings decrease upon return. Heals fully after a three-game rest

Degree 5

* Out for four to five games; instantly made unavailable
- Can play one game early with a 10% ratings decrease upon return. Heals fully after a five-game rest

Degree 6

* Out for six to ten games; instantly made unavailable
- Heals fully after recovering from injury

Degree 7

Ruled out for the remainder of the series/tournament
- You can call-up a replacement if your player pool can support it​
