Astle hasn't been much better recently I don't think but I like that he's been given the chance.

He wasn't even playing for NZ A recently, so he's definitely a bit of a bolter.

I really can't take these guys seriously anymore. Guptill is being rested for the one day series and Bracewell has technical issues to work on, you have got to be kidding me. You would think they would have learnt from the West Indies tour that anything less than our best 11 out on the park means we will probably get hammered. If Guptill needs a rest why is he playing in the champions league right now? Surely thats not more important than an international series. Why isn't Bracewell in the nets now working on the technical issues rather than missing a whole series because of it? There is absolutely no hope for NZC until we get rid of these aussies running the show.

I'm also sick of this crap about how guys need to go back and perform in plunket shield (well thats the reason that was given for Watling not being in the test squad). Everytime they play domestic cricket they score hundred after hundred, Watling needs to be playing at test level to improve not smashing around hapless domestic bowlers like hes done for the past 5 years.

Not really sure what to make of Astles selection, not a big fan tbh but he couldn't do any worse than Nethula lately.

NZ bowlers are great for 1 day but in tests when there is no over limit you can take your time punching them around. Apart from Taylor and Vettori that fighting spirit that use to be one of their greatest weapons is not there anymore. But they are the worlds worst sledgers even the Australians can't beat them with it

What is up with that spinner who has played more International cricket than domestic cricket? He played like 4 games and went on to the T20? Can't remember his surname you NZ guys might know who I am talking about

I think you're talking about Ronnie Hira, and if you're referring to what the CL commentators were saying about him they have no idea about NZ cricket. He's actually been around for ages, it's just that he's a T20 and OD specialist. He's played 100+ domestic matches, and he's just a really handy all-round cricketer. More often than not he gets the job done with the ball, and he's a useful lower order batsman and a decent fielder.

Actually I heard this during the T20 WC. But thanks for the info as we do not see much of NZ sides here on tv except when its rugby,

Other question since Flemming is gone who has take over the role of anchor?

Another series with only 2 tests, why on earth can't we have a proper 3 match series? Remove 2 ODIs and make it a 3 test match series. When are these morons going to realize having a 5 match ODI series is just plain stupid.

The lack of centuries is alarming. Scoring a 100 of 300 balls is fine especially if you anchor the innings but they seem to be in a rush or like they have to entertain by that throwing their wicket aways. People called Kallis selfish and such without realizing he was told to play the anchor role and the others will bat around him. So he got in made sure he stayed in as long as possible and get a century while everyone else batted around him. When is the last time a NZ player have scored a big hundred or converted 50's to hundred on regular basis?

Kane Williamson would be our best bet for the future, his test career has been pretty good so far.
