Just watched the highlights and noticed that Gill brought up his 50, 150 and 200 with a six each. You normally wouldn't see people taking chances when nearing a milestone.

Reminds me of another Indian opener - Sehwag. Didn't matter if he was on 9 or 99 - he is going for it.

Not to be, sadly. Sometimes after failing inches before victory, we learn from our experience, get up to face the next challenge, and fail even miserably.

The things being a Bangladesh fan will teach you :)

Double Doubles incoming? It kinda seems plausible at this stage

New Zealand were poor. Perhaps due to Williamson and Southee missing out?

I also feel Latham and Phillips were woefully out of touch and that tilted the scales in India's favour. A full strength Kiwi team will be the harbinger of the usual omens for India, should they meet in the World Cup KO games.

So the one time KLR doesn't feature in the playing XI, we score in excess of 340 every time we had a chance to bat first :p

The big positive in today's game was the allround show from Washington Sundar! A superb display literally from him. Days like this makes you tear your hair out in frustration as to why this fellow keeps getting injured so very often. He has always been ripening and maturing really well and if he keeps himself fit, he can have a really long career for India and is another perfect "all format player".

That catch he took off his own bowling, was SPECTACULAR! Reminded me of the likes of Raina and Jadeja who've taken such catches before. That catch itself proves how fit he is, compared to Ashwin. He seems to be improving his power hitting game (just like how Jadeja did initially in his career).

If the same type of match has happened in SENA countries with pace bowlers dominating on green track, we will praise it as great match, pitches like this then and there are good for cricket IMO irrespective of the format.

Was always a fan of Gill, his recent performances just prove why! What a player he is going to be for Indian Cricket.
