Imran Khan
He needs no introduction. The only captain of Pakistan to win the ICC World Cup (1992). Though he has been greatly appreciated around the world for his allround performances in test cricket, he also performed fantastically with both bat and ball in ODIs aswell averaging 35 with the bat and 26 with the ball. This averages gets even better when it came down to World Cup performances. He has batting average of 37 and bowling average of 19 which is great stats for an allrounder.

Imran is considered one of the greatest allrounders of all time alongside Botham and Kapil Dev. His last 10 years of test career has been amazing, where he has the average of 50. He has been the best captain to lead Pakistan and through his tactical approach and fine decision making, he has led his country to lift the ICC World Cup in 1992. He has represented Pakistan in 5 World Cups ie, 1975, 1979, 1983, 1987, 1992.

He will be my captain and will bat at no.5 where he averages more than 65. His only Worldcup ton came in that position. :)

Rawalpindi Express was the triumph card for Pakistan in ICC World Cup(1999-2011)

Shoaib Akhtar
'Don of Cricket' - for a reason. Tiger is known for his vicious bouncers and raw aggression. One of the most lethal opening bowler with an outstanding World Cup record. Shoaib accompanied captain Wasim Akram to lead Pakistan’s bowling attack, succeeding a retired Waqar Younis. Many were still coping to comprehend an enigma, as he gained enough leverage to be among the tournament’s top wicket-takers. Shoaib Akhtar was the exclusive reason for Pakistan 1999 semi final win against the consistent New Zeland. In the 1999 World Cup, Shoaib was the triumph card for Pakistan. Shoaib's best was 3 for 55 v New Zealand, semi-final, 1999, where he took the big wickets of Nathan Astle,Roger Twose and Stephen Fleming with express pace of 90 mph. Shoaib Akhtar bowled a record delivery at 161.3 km/h (100.23 mph) against England on 22 February 2003 in a World Cup match at New lands, Cape Town, South Africa. Shoaib's best bowling performance came against Namibia, he took 4/46 in a batting friendly pitch. Shoaib Akhtar didn't need any fielders on the day - wicked in swinging yorkers were his poison. It didn't matter a damn that he was the most expensive bowler for his side; he was out there to take and break wickets. In 2011 World Cup, although he was not fit for the WC series, he took some important wickets. Shoaib Akhtar was at his blistering best, hitting the stumps three times and consistently topping 90mph. Best of all, he reminded everyone that fast bowling was supposed to be just that - fast. Shoaib is my second weapon. In this team, his main objective will be inspection of batsman psyche and bamboozle their dreams. Trent and Akhtar duo makes my bowling lambaste lethal and blood-curdling.

Shoaib Akhtar's records in the World Cup :

M: 19
Wickets : 30
BB : 4/46
3/4 : 3/1
Eco: 4.51
MOM : 1

But you selecting him as a wkb means his stats as a wkb will only be considered which are actually pretty good. You should put him at 5 if you are playing him as a wkb tbh. But then again it is your XI and you call the shots! If you want him at 3, you can keep him there.
When I was looking for a Captain, the other two PS and EL Loco went for Akram and Miandad respectively which helped me to grab Imran Khan. I can't place him below 5 as he bats horribly there. And only other option was to play him at 3 and demote Dravid to 5. Imran occasionally played at 3 and his performance was not that great or was full of uncertainty.

Playing Dravid at 3 is safer bet than playing Imran at 3. Hence, decide to go unchanged with his position. Dravid has better stats at 3 irrespective of his wicket keeping role.

As I said it's your team, your rules. :thumbs Nice pick in Imran Khan, I actually thought he would be the first to be picked in this round.
I would've picked him first. Was confused between him and Akram. Since I have MS Dhoni in my line-up and I wanted a more lethal bowler. I went with Wasim.

Yeah at this stage of the draft it comes down to who you need in your XI rather than who the best available player is in that round. Wasim is an excellent choice and I already envy your bowling attack. Akram, Warne, Allot and Razzak is a lethal bowling attack already!

Shahid Afridi

Shahid Afridi was one of the most flamboyant characters of the modern era and a batsman ahead of his time. Much before the T20 format arrived, he batted in a way perfectly suited for that format. Afridi had an irresistible urge to batter the ball right from the moment he came to the crease, a trait that he never abandoned regardless of the team's situation. As a result, he had a paltry average of 14 but he was not the kind of player unduly concerned with averages. With him, it was all about Strike Rates.

In the second half of his career, Afridi became a vastly improved bowler and retained his place in the team purely by virtue of his bowling. From a 'batsman who could bowl', he made a remarkable transformation to a 'bowler who could bat.'
I know its a poor pick despite of his wc stats i want him to finish innings at the lower order and could be a convenient spin bowler.

Was undecided between Saqlain Mushtaq and Waqar Younis. I'm going for Saqlain Mushtaq since i already have two good pacers.

Not a bad pick. His leg spin can give breakthroughs and is definitely more than just a bowler who can bat.
