I just wanted to take a moment to remember Omer Qureshi, Pakistan's finest cricket commentator who died this week at 82. I grew up listening to him on the radio and tv describing the matches. He ranks right up there with Johnston and Arlott as the voice of cricket at least for Pakistanis. I dont know if anyone else here had the chance to listen to him. He also used to write editorials on cricket for one of our major newspapers, and his advice and comments were always right on the mark. Its a real loss for pakistanis and cricket. May he rest in peace.

i have read a few of his articles in the Times Of India and The Asian Age and judging from that he was a bundle of cricket knowledge
May his soul rest in peace

I used to read his columns....it is sad that he is gone now....I read his artciles and columns during India's tour of pak...he seemed very knowledgeble...

he must have been great...cricinfo says he was 77...well i think i can't place him...i mean the Omar Quereshi I had heard of and about and seen in last year's ICC Champions Trophy was far younger...he looked 55 to me...am I mixing ppl here? if I am, I am sorry...may his soul rest in peace....

yeah he was similar to india's ayaj menon...those who read times of india must know it.
