For the next test. If the pitch assist spin I would play Shadab over Yasir and if not I would play Faheem.

Now that this post is devoid of the abuse, I can put my response in.

Clearly, sarcasm isn't your strongest suit. The world's best batsman right now was dropped quite a few times when he was making all the runs he did in 2018. It's a pathetic way to undermine someone but it suits you to perfection. Making outlandish baseless claims like someone is playing for his country because of his uncle who himself is a legend of the game is a mark of grave disrespect to both. To then abuse someone on a public forum for pulling you up on it is even more disrespectful. What's hilarious is that someone actually supported your post. Keep posting your views here and in the manner you do as well. Without dirt in life, cleanliness cannot be understood.

I have no idea what this means. You should look up both "abuse" and "criticism" in the dictionary. It might help you understand what I was doing here. That is what fans do. I am far from the only one who thinks Imam is in the team because of nepotism. Critiquing players is not the same as disrespect. These people play a sport. They're entertainers and athletes. This is how sports is consumed. I never mentioned anything personal about Imam. In fact, as I mentioned countless times before, he has raw talent but might not deserve to play presently on the team. With Inzimam, it is the blatant omission of players like Fawad Alam, Sadaf Hussain and countless others who obviously deserve to be on the squad at least that consequently evokes thoughts of nepotism and favouritism.

Either way, I believe you have taken this rather personally and that was not my intention. If your sensibilities have been hurt then I apologize sincerely for that and for my strong language. Happy new year.

Curious to see why you would drop Yasir for Shadab. Is it the batting improvement? Both Shadab and Faheem were impressive with the bat in Ireland/England. If there was a way I could squeeze both into the lineup, I would be inclined to do that. Clearly the batsmen aren't working. Maybe a young core could help something. Can't be worse than the current situation.

Yasir won't add any value in batting department. This way we can have a long batting line-up

Yasir is your main man, how can the management think of dropping him. Shadab is a half batsman, if full batsmen are unable to score what alone shadab can do. I heard cape town wicket will support spin so Yasir can prove quite lethal there. More importantly, He wasnt used well in the first test, Sarfraz relied too much on fast bowlers.

I really feel for Fawad Alam. As in, really really feel for him. God knows what wrong he's done to be overlooked for ages!

I don't think it's the right strategy to pick bowlers who can bat to remedy batting woes. That is not fair to the bowlers at all. And I agree, I think that dropping Yasir would not send the right message. I would still pick all three though if I could, Yasir, Shadab and Faheem. I think that might be too depleted in the batting side though. If that's the case than Mohammad Rizwan in for Shadab.

    Imam ul Haq
    Fakhar Zaman
    Azhar Ali
    Babar Azam
    Harris Sohail
    Faheem Ashraf
    Shadab Khan / Mohammad Rizwan
    Yasir Shah
    Mohammad Amir
    Hassan Ali
    Mohammad Abbas

It is not only the blatant injustice, it's also that the excuses are borderline pathetic now. When last asked, I believe Inzimam's response was something along the line of, "I've seen better player". If that is not vague and dismissive, with an implied sense of ignorance, I don't know what is.

A general question to Pak cricket fans.. My memory of Fawad Alam is off a solid bat, a steady left arm orthodox and a quite brilliant fielder. HIs first class numbers with the bat are mind boggling but his bowling seems to have dropped or is it just stats? What about his fielding?

He initially started as all-rounder in Pak team and was a brilliant fielder. He dosesn't ball that much in domestic because of the past 5 years or so he mainly focuses on batting. His fielding is still as good as it was though.

So when there's no fitness issue, he's your best run getter in the first class system then where's the hindrance? If my memory serves me right, he got a great ton against Lanka in his first series. Don't get it.

A much needed inspiring innings from Sarfaraz. Also after quite a while later I have seen Amir contribute with the bat. 200 runs would have given Pakistan psychological advantage as this is a similar score to first match. If Pakistan bowlers can reproduce the same first inning effort in the first match its once again match on.

I think people are unnecessarily after Imam ul Haq. The guy is young and looks decent with his batting and will definitely improve with time. And for Fawad Alam what assurance can people give that if he performs in domestic he would in Internationals as well ? Do people know about his fitness levels ? Do they know about his mindset ? Are they sure he fits the requirements of the team ? And he made his debut about a decade ago, so how can you expect him to perform as similar as he used to a decade ago ?
