He is good. Work to be done, but a lot of talent there. A lot. Wahab is class in T20's. Pakistan have an outstanding bowling attack. One of the best in the world. Imad is so underrated. Shadab is another class act.

This should be the side groomed. I would 100% give Rohail Nazir a look in and I am not saying this because Haider Ali worked. You have 3 world cups in 3 years and you would want the same squad playing them. I've never seen Khushdil Shah so I cannot comment.

Malik apart, that lineup is fine. I would play another bowler/bowling all-rounder in place of Malik given Shadab's improvement with the bat.

What I think is Hafeez is just trying to push the door for the selection in WT20 in India next year. And I get a feeling come the WT20 he would terribly flop. Exactly what happened during 2016 WT20 and 2019 World Cup. I don't think his performance in this series should be trusted much considering his history in big tournaments. Malik actually is someone who does deliver under pressure when the odds are down and out against him. He looks far better than Hafeez in pressure situations.

It is fine to criticize Hafeez but to suggest that Malik who did not score more than eight runs in the 2019 World Cup (compared to Hafeez who actually did have one match-winning knock versus the eventual champions) and has scored more than twenty only twice in his last ten T20I innings (Hafeez failed to do so only once in contrast and has scored three consecutive 50s) is ridiculous. A bit of an extreme example given that looking further back brings in Hafeez's really awful form (when his averaged nosedived to 22) but over the last two years Hafeez has performed better for Pakistan and looks to be better in his role. Imagine going to Hafeez and telling him, "your batting looks faulty to our eyes, I do not care that you are in good form, we shall prefer your compatriot who is in the same age group and has been worse so far."

Wonder if Malik's reputation gets enhanced a lot given his good record versus India and overall high profile due to his success in the T20 circuit.

Malik is a fantastic T20 performer across the world. The outside Asia stuff is relevant in tests and not in the white ball stuff. Tracks in England are flatter than tile laid out apartments in the world now.
That's actually not true tho. Perhaps I should've mentioned I was talking about his recent years and not his entire career, but Malik has been bang-average and at times, frustratingly below-average for Pakistan in Limited-Overs cricket. Again, for Pakistan. Not counting all the T20 leagues.
IIRC, Malik won a few T20 games for you guys just the last series and played one innings here. It's a joke.
Against Bangladesh on those yellow, dead Lahore wickets? Literally one innings of 58*. In the next game, Hafeez scored 67*. Don't think that either of those innings should be rated so highly.

Also, you can't say Malik is a better bowling option than Hafeez.

I did not know much about his record for Pakistan but it is just what I have observed in him. In other T20 leagues around the world he has many times come in difficult situations and won the match for his side. There was a period around 2010-2013 when he wasn't as good but he improved a bit with time. In my view I wouldn't want to take either of them and look for a young player. But it is just that if they are looking for an experienced player. Idk much about this tbh.
