Welcome to Day Trois of PlanetCricket's Awards 2009. Today's awards are Best News Team Article, Most Improved Member and Best Moderator. So we've got some big awards going out!

The Cricket News section is one of the features of the site where we see some of the more literary-minded members of the website exhibit their ability to write on the sport. Let's take a look at the results!

Best News Team Article
Twenty20 - Tragic Irony or Poetic Justice by shravi (17.7%)
The IPL must end by karnog (16.5%)
A 'Marvellous' Innings comes to an end by Gilly Fan (16.5%).

shravi takes the cake with his piece on Twenty20 by just over a percentage, while karnog and Gilly Fan come in tied for second place. Quite a tight race!

Our second category is one that honors members who didn't start out on the right foot, but have since mended their ways to become fine members of the PC community. This year's competition included several of the more eccentric members on the website.

Most Improved Member
Hooper (39.6%)
WORLD CHAMPIONS (18%)
zMario (18%)

So Hooper crushed his opposition to grab nearly 2/5 of the vote whereas WORLD CHAMPIONS and zMario came in tied for second. We encourage our members, especially the newer ones, to mend their ways if starting off on the right foot is not an option!

Finally, we look at one of the more "backend" contests of the PC Awards. This award is for Best Moderator--members who try to set an example for the PC community and make sure everything is under control.

Moderator
Surendar (40.5%)
aus5892 (20.7%)
angryangry (12.4%)

Surendar has run away with this one, amassing more votes than the next 2 top moderators. We hope that he and our whole group of moderators make the site a fun community for you guys and would also like to thank all our moderators for making PlanetCricket as strong a community as it is.

Tomorrow we will declare Best Thread Starter, Best New Member and Best Global Moderator so catch the action, then!

Congratulations to the winners, you can discuss this all in our http://www.planetcricket.org/forums/general-chat/pc-awards-2009-discussion-thread-57483.html
