It didn't take long for the staff to have to get involved in the first case of plagiarism for Cricket 2007 which is more than a little disappointing to us. With Cricket 2005 there was a record number of cases of plagiarism and we do not want to see a repeat of that with this year's releases.

So, to that end, let me first quote rule 13 from the PlanetCricket rules which states quite clearly:
13) Plagiarism: Plagiarism is the act of taking the previously published work of others and passing it off as your own. This is both dishonest to the community and disrespectful to the original author. Anybody caught plagiarising the work of other members can expect to be dealt with severely.
If you wish to redistribute someone elses work you must get their permission first.
Let me reiterate: if you are caught plagiarising, you will be banned. The length of the ban will be at the discretion of the PlanetCricket Staff.

In conclusion, a lot of people in the PlanetCricket community spend a lot of their free time making content for the other members to enjoy. They don't do it to seek recognition and respect, they do it because they enjoy doing so and want to contribute to the community's enjoyment and to enhance the cricket games which get released. Consequently, when people spend five minutes ripping off the work of others to pass off as their own - with the sole purpose of gaining a bit of attention and credit they don't deserve - it exasperates the original authors and really annoys the staff.

SO, DO NOT PLAGIARISE OR YOU WILL SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES. IT'S REALLY NOT WORTH IT.

With incidences of Plagiarism on the rise, from now on any people found plagiarising will be given a minimum of a three month ban.

Unless someone has given you permission to use part or all of their work, you MUST NOT use it under any circumstances.

If someone has plagiarised your work, or you suspect them of doing so, report the post where they have released it, including a link to where you released it originally and any comments that would help staff in determining if plagiarism has taken place.

Posting plagiarism allegations in public is unacceptable.
