Just take your time. I know how life can catch up with us sometimes :(

Excellent story line you had got as the base now. Now, all you need is to execute that well. :)

Its been a nice and neat presentation. Especially, those laser gun games and all those stuffs other than cricketing actions are simply brilliant. :hpraise Keep this going.. Don't worry about the time. :thumbs

Rain, Rain, Rain and a wet slow outfield on a green uneven wicket, if I can?t get runs on the other pitches how am I gonna do today. Suren goes out with the Nairn skipper and wins the toss and almost automatically chooses to bowl. This was defiantly the fairest decision and looking at the pitch I am happy I don?t have to bat yet. As he came in he gave Rossco and Sarvesh the nod to stretch up and Matt Baker already had his pads on and everyone looked fired up for a performance as we went back into the changing room for a team speech.

Louis brought us news none could be ready for as we sat in the changing room and a sudden silence fell over the side. Two members of the side had been offered trials at Essex County Cricket Club and this meant they would be going to Chelmsford after this tour to train with the Essex First Squad and hope to gain a contract. He also said that the Essex coach and England national team selector would be there today and looking at the side to see the potential of players in the line up. My heat had sunk but leapt, I had failed as of yet but a good day and I could be selected for Essex. As we headed out the changing room I got a slap on the ass and heard the confident cheers from Matt behind as we headed out to bowl.

After only 40 overs we were on top bowling Nairn out for a pathetic 151. Rossco and Sarvesh started well but then the spinners just took them out. Not meaning to be boastful but 5-12 from 10 and the best spell in my life was awesome. I bowled good lines got heaps of turn and got the batsmen into all sorts of trouble. There line up crumbled under the pressure from our side and with Sarvesh and Rossco taking two each, Innes taking one and me the other half with 5 wickets. So Chasing 151 I went into lunch with a big smile on my face and a hope that I will get a good knock today.

A long lunch session and one that I thoroughly enjoyed, Suren, Sarvesh and I headed to the changing room and as we sat down Suren didn?t speak to Sarvesh but to me for a change. He walked over in his pads and wished me luck telling me it was an easy score and that I should relax and just play my natural game. This was helpful and with 5 wickets under my belt already I was feeling prity calm as I sat next to Matt and watch the two openers take guard.

Well for the first time in the comp both openers failed. Suren got a measly 3 and Sarvesh got an even more measly duck. For the first time both openers failed without the bowling even being of the highest standard. Then numbers for and five Tom (0) and Rameez (7) both got out in quick succession to leave Me and Matt to try and get Easton Back into the game.

Well yes we did succeed. Matt scored a solid unbeaten 60 and I batted with a purpose making 83*. We made the score with time to spare and both played well. It was good to see him do well and get some runs as well as me having an awesome game in front of the Essex coach.

After the game Louis and the Essex coach came up and started telling me how well I had played, and that he had high regard for my future in world cricket. He also told me he heard about the decision to not select me in the Essex under 16 and after watching me today understood it was a poor choice. He said if I worked hard throughout the next few years there would be a spot for me in his team. My heart sky-rocketed, I was so pleased that I had performed when it counted and got that rat-bag of an Under 16 coach back for not picking me. What an awesome day.

WHO WILL BE SELECTED FOR THE ESSEX SIDE NEXT YEAR?

Oh yeah. Nice performance with the bat by you and me, but you are still calling me Matt? It is Tom ;)

Nice to see an update though mate. Love the story
