Pakistan started quickly, only to lose Fakhar Zaman after 12 balls. Shan Masoon could never quite get going, and even if Pakistan stitched up some good partnerships, India's bowlers never let them get a whiff of the big total they would need on this flat pitch. Things looked ominous for Pakistan as soon as the Indian openers got going, and eventually put up a century partnership. Rizwan dropped Rohit in the 11th over, to make matters worse, while Shadab Khan took a mauling from the other end. Pakistan gave away 20 extras, as the Indian top three racked up quick half-centuries, and Shreyas Iyer and Hardik Pandya ruthlessly dealt the final blow, chasing down the last 100 runs in less than 13 overs at the crease together.

Taking out both the Pakistani openers early-on on such a batting friendly pitch worked wonders for us. Had they stuck on the pitch for the first ten overs, their scorecard would had been so different. Their middle and lower order did try to salvage the innings a bit, almost allowing them to touch the 300-mark, almost. Jadeja was excellent with the ball. Conceding just 4 runs per over on such a pitch just shows the class of Jadeja. A complete package in all three departments. Although I feel Pakistan were 30-40 runs below the par score, they still had put up a fighting total. However, Indian openers provided the exact thing the Pakistani openers missed, a strong opening partnership. The century stand between Rohit and Rahul made it easier for the team to chase the score. And that was evident, with SKY, Iyer and Pandya all chipping in with valuable runs in the chase. If I had to pick a stand out bowler from Pakistan, if has to be Shadab Khan. Ofcourse he was a tad bit expensive, still he was the only one who ended up taking two major scalps for the team. In the end it was a complete win for it.
