Question about patching

Hello there,

I'd just liek to know about patching. how does it work and what type of computer knowledge do u need in-order to become a seccessfull patcher. i consider myself to be mid-ADV computer user. I have done some delphi programming and i have also built a computer from scratch . atm i CANT Program in C/C++ so iam assuming i wont be able to become patcher untill i learn some programming language? plz answer my questoin.

It depends what patches you are making, if you want to make graphics patches you dont really need any programming knowledge, but need to be able to use something like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.

If you want to make AI patches all you really need is to be able to change some values in notepad or a config editor and keep trying the game until the values you change give the effect on the game you want.

If you have some programming knowledge it can be very useful in creating an editor for parts of the game to make it much easier for others to make patches for the game though. Before most other patches can be the graphics files and AI files have to be found and in most cases an editor made to be able to extract and change them.
