Nehra to retire from all forms of cricket - ESPNcricinfo

Good long career comes to an end in the final T20. He was a good chap.

Although he may not be in the league of Sehwag, Tendulkar, Dravid etc. he clearly was an instrumental weapon is helping to shape the bowlers of today for India. One of the last players that debuted in the 90's. Hope to see him in a coaching role within the IPL or maybe even international level.

For me, ABD is easily the best batsmen in this generation ahead of Kane, Kohli, Root, Smith and others. A very sad day for the fans.

It is a very sad and surprising news for me. AB should play limited over format atleast until WC 2019.

Very sad to see ABD announce his retirement. Huge fan of his batting and his personality. Probably the best player of our generation. Such a spectacular player to watch, AB you will be missed. But it's true, he has played a lot and needs a break after those long series. But still a very heartbreaking day for cricket fans.

With ABD gone, I feel even Steyn will follow the same route, unfortunately.

a Very sad day for South African Cricket indeed. We all knew it was coming eventually, but hoped it wouldn't come this early.

All I can say is, thank you! I truly believe there isn't a human on this planet that adores him more than me! If this makes him happy, then I'm very happy. Yes, it hurts insanely, but the memories are fond and plenty.

LIVE LOVE Abraham Benjamin de Villiers!

Certainly one of the greatest fielder the game has seen.

Dont rate his batting at all, most of his good scores came against mediocre opposition like West Indies.

Been a great servant to South African cricket over the years even serving as captain, yet we all knew it was just a matter of time he turn his back on them to freelance on the independant circuit. Another player choses T20 leagues over country.

I chuckled at someone posting he is the best batsmen of the generation, rating him above Kholi/Smith/Kane, just look at the player rankings to know thats complete bullocks.

Ab a great fieldsman, good batsmen and good entertainer.[DOUBLEPOST=1527079409][/DOUBLEPOST]

AB claims he is ‘tired’ and thats why he has chosen to retire from international cricket. Is this physical or mental ‘tired’ and why not retire from global T20 leagues like IPL etc? SA global schedule already one of the least compact as compared to other countries! He couldve dropped those leagues and play test cricket only.
