With competitors like iOS and Android, Jolla comes up with a new Operating System for mobiles - the Sailfish OS. It looks quite much inspired from Android to me.

My knowledge of this area is poor, yet have say it doesn't look that good.

Just watched the first video, it didn't excite me too much to watch the second one.
The UI seems to be a hybrid of Android and Windows Phone.

Yup, saw this 3-4 days ago. Looks very promising, and I'm excited to try it out. Galaxy Nexus will be the first phone to get it, so that boosts my excitement too.

Ya ofcourse. The UI seems innovative as much as it could be,not like sailfish.

Too many swipe schemes. Would be difficult the first time. Quite much liking it. BTW, there's Mozilla coming up with their own OS as well, if someone didn't know.

Saw the Ubuntu one yesterday, I must say I am pretty impressed so far. Since it based on Linux also, can you run Android apps on it?

Its actually Ubuntu for Android, so I think they may work. They say to release the OS for Android running multi-core handsets in late 2013, would like to try it out then.

Ubuntu OS for mobiles and Ubuntu for Android are two different projects.

Ubuntu mobile OS looks very very promising. Should try that out! Also, the Sailfish OS too looks interesting. There is some Android inspiration in there, but still the gestures and the way he moves from one screen to another and uses those gestures look interesting. I like that "Ambience" thing in Sailfish OS.:thumbs
