SCOTLAND IN THE WORLD CUP 2007

Im new to Planet Cricket and thought I'd write a quick story. So what could be faster than a Scotland World Cup campaign. In my three games my aims are:

1)To not get bowled out by one of South Africa or Australia.
2)To hold either South Africa or Australia to below 300 runs.
3)To beat the Netherlands
.

There will be images in future updates.

Much as I like to see someone who supports Scotland and Surrey posting, I'll be deleting this thread unless it gets some content fast.

First 10 overs

Scotland win the toss and decide to bowl first.

The Australian batsmen get off to a steady start picking up singles and taking no risks. It is left hander Jaques who strikes the first boundary.

Jaques strikes!

And the ball races to the fence for four!

Despite this it was Haddin who posed the most threat to the Scottish attack. He exuded confidence during his time on strike.

A cheeky shot by Haddin goes for four.

Haddin goes over the top for another boundary.

It was also Haddin who put away the first six of the match, a bad ball by Blain was smashed onto the roof of the stands.

So at the end of ten overs the Australians look to be on top at 49/0 and should continue to dominate for the remainder of their innings

Haddin looks on top.

The Scottish bowlers need to step up their game.

Overs 11-25

The Aussies have slowed the pace down after the explosive first 10. They seem unwilling to lose wickets and appear to be content picking up ones and twos when they can.

Haddin continues with his good form and soon picks up his 50.

A solid 50 from Haddin

It was not long after this when a ball from Nel took an edge from Haddin himself and narrowly missed taking his own bails off!

luckymz1.jpg

A lucky escape!

So half way through their innings the Australians have yet to lose a wicket and seem to be picking up runs steadily. The Scots need to break this partnership fast if they hope to get anything out of this match.

A good partnership.

The Scots need to keep these buildings from getting too high.

bowl a yorker (special delivery) and bring the marker as far down as you can and line it up with off stump. It will automatically change the length (being a special delivery) and it should uproot a couple of stumps.

None of my bowlers have enough confidence for specials and I doubt they're good enough anyway. (Probably just end up as a full toss that will be smashed out of the ground :()
