Wrapped up like a kebab!!

I feel South Africa have been really off colour over the last 6 months or so. Hashim Amla has really struggled to play decent Test cricket and without Dale Steyn the sting seems little gone (Chris Morris isn't really a fair replacement). Need to get their heads screwed on before the next test.

My sentiments word perfect. This will be his last test for me unless he gets a big score 2nd innings

but who do you replace him with....the age old problem but lets worry about winning this test first!

Has been a tremendous series so far. So many high-quality passages of play, a real pleasure to watch. Think South Africa should persist with Kuhn at least for a couple more matches, it is never easy to debut in England as an opener and perform at a high level. He needs more time. They've been very unlucky with Philander getting injured so frequently but Olivier looks like a capable deputy. Keaton Jennings seems a tad raw right now but maybe dropping him immediately isn't the optimal solution. Young players need to handled gently and must be given a rope longer than the rest. Same verdict as Kuhn but for different reasons. Middle and lower order looks great but the bowling could be strained in more batting-friendly conditions against better batsmen. With every passing day, England's horrible treatment of Nick Compton seems more foolish. He could've and should've been a long-term member of the team but was mismanaged.

That sucks I think if he got to 100 he may have batted on. Furthermore, Anderson again showing his class with the ball another great bowling display.

Stuff Anderson, Ali was indeed against the star of the show. 14 runs and 2 wickets - priceless...

Enjoyable day of cricket today. Plenty in the pitch and then all time great Moeen took game away from Saffies with a great knock after getting dropped early on

Hoping for good weather and England really should be able to finish job off. Anderson never took a 5 wicket haul at Old Trafford but hopefully can put that right tomorrow

Jennings surely played his last game for a while, Westley looks like he can cut the mustard but Malan had difficult introduction to test cricket

This England side is an interesting one in that it wins in spite of three weak links in the top five.

Wondered what you fine folks thought of this side:

:eng: :bat: Nick Browne

:eng: :ar: Moeen Ali
:eng: :ar: Chris Woakes
:eng: :bwl: Stuart Broad
:eng: :bwl: Jimmy Anderson

Looks pretty good to me. Big fan of Woakes but would be tough on Roland Jones. Heard Sky commentators talk about Hales at 5 which is interesting. Be less pressure on him but does he have right technique to play at test level?
Don't know enough about Browne to comment but we need to find a partner for Cook soon as he will be retiring in a couple of years probably.
