Dunno if this counts as off topic but don’t really know where else to put it but who would be your world t20 xi right now?

Considering both recent form as the main factor and their skill...

Warner
Azam (best batsman in 2019)
Kohli
AbD
Maxwell
Russell
Pooran (because I needed a keeper)
Rashid Khan (best bowler in 2019)
Rabada
Bumrah
Tahir

Players unlucky to miss out:

Rahul, Short, Nabi, Bairstow, Mo, Lamichhane, Buttler, Hardik, Shakib, Amir, Archer.

Too many of the best batsmen are optimally suited to open in a T20 side. Wonder if we’ll ever see a truly world class middle order batsman playing at five or six who doesn’t bowl in the near future. The closest comparisons that I can think of are Miller and Asif Ali.

Such convincing shots from Rohit Sharma but that incoming delivery once again does the trick. :facepalm

Kohli plays a wonderful on-drive but somehow gets away with an lbw. :D

Dunno if this counts as off topic but don’t really know where else to put it but who would be your world t20 xi right now?

1. :ind:Rohit Sharma :bat: (highest number of T20 hundreds and has sheer power and timing to hit sixes with ease)
2. :aus:Aaron Finch :bat: (a gun player once he gets going)
3. :ind:Virat Kohli :bat: (most consistent batsman in this format)
4. :ind:MS Dhoni :wkb::c: (most successful T20 Captain and equally destructive with the bat)
5. :saf:David Miller :bat:(a really destructive T20 middle order player and has the fastest T20I hundred to his name)
6. :eng:Ben Stokes:ar: (probably the best all-rounder in the world)
7. :eng:Jos Buttler :bat: (sure shot for the finishers role)
8. :eng:Jofra Archer :ar:(a terrific and talented young bowler)
9. :ind:Kuldeep Yadav :bwl:(the best chinaman bowler in the world atm)
10. :ind:Yuzvendra Chahal :bwl: (he is a work horse kind of a bowler and knows to keep things tight)
11. :ind:Jasprit Bumrah :bwl: (the best bowler in the world right now)

Aaron Finch would be my 6th bowling option. Even Kohli can get in a few overs if required.

Players unfortunate to miss out:-

:pak:Babar Azam :bat: (young and very consistent in this format)
:nz:Kane Williamson :bat: (a cool calm player who is a very natural stroke player with a lot of composure)
Bhuvneshwar Kumar :bwl: (another workhorse bowler and has a weapon called the knuckle ball in his armoury)
:ind:Hardik Pandya :ar: (a destructive T20 batsman and a handy all-rounder)
:saf:Quinton De Kock :wkb: (a talented wicket-keeper batsman who once gets going is hard to stop)

A bit surprised by the presence of Stokes in every lineup except mine till now. To me, he is an outstanding player in tests and ODIs but highly overrated in T20s due to his achievements in the longer formats. I would have Hardik ahead of him in T20s any day of the week.

India were not made to work hard at all! The way SAF started, they should've scored 170 and that would've challenged India.

Pant again throws it away! This after getting a public "rap on the knuckles" from Shastri, Kohli and Rathour (new batting coach) in the build up to this game today. IMHO, its time to bring in Sanju Samson and play him and Pant depending on form. Pant needs to be challenged for his spot.

Coming to the match today, bowlers did well to contain them to 149 on a pretty good surface. Batting was as expected and it turned out to be pretty comfortable run chase in the end. Rishabh Pant needs a decent inning because he is not making use of the chances that he is getting. He is coming at an ideal time and at a position where he can actually win games for India but he is completely wasting it right now. Someone like Ishan Kishan who has improved his power game tremendously in the last couple of years and he is already waiting for his chance and has done very well for A team.

Is Samson really the only domestic option we have? :(

That bloke is the definition of inconsistency. I would rather have Rahul open and give him the gloves, he was better this year as a keeper in IPL and even kept when Pooran played. Plus, it would ensure Rahul’s stay in the side, whose exclusion is maddening to say the least.
