Spammed Emails

Recently I get lot of emails of winning like your email has win a prize or whatever. I get these type of emails lot of time. So as you all know these all emails are fake and fill our inbox or they have any purpose of taking our house address then they can do anything to us. If anyone know how to stop these emails. These emails can be harmful to us so my advice to all that never reply these emails. Can we stop these kind of emails? and why they come to us? Also everyone knows no one is lucky enough to get lot of prize winning emails in 1 month without doing nothing.

They are of course cons. First, delete them (or filter them through a spam filter, then delete them from there). You start to get spam e-mail because you have put your e-mail address somewhere on the internet for all to see. By doing this, a 'spider' has picked it up and is now sending it spam. It is highly unlikely anything will come to your home address, because since they are all cons they are not going to go to the expense of sending post. If it becomes too much to deal with, change your e-mail address and don't put it in a public place on the internet.

Not all of them are spam emails. The ones claiming you've won a prize for a competition you never entered are spam but the ones from a random Nigerian minister asking you to verify your bank account details are genuine. The last thing you'd want is for someone to lose your details...

Nigerians are trusty guys to do business with. I bet some Liverpudlians are behind the nigerian scam.

Their purpose is to steal your money electronically, not come over to your house and rob you. I especially like the "My client needs to claim money and wants you to help him out" trick. Apparently a mate of mine stuffed them around for a while, pretending to be interested to waste their time.

The email which i put up while joining pc is now a full JUNK bin, some 400 emails of junks :

I created other one on hotmail :cool:

just keep one mail id for putting it up on forums while joining and the other one for your personal hings easy solution this is what majority do

My Hotmail ID serves 3 purposes - MSN, Signing up for websites/forums, and storing all the spam.

Got a proper Email ID for important stuff...

Gmail IDs are the best. Suppose your ID is [email protected], you can give [email protected] on forums and stuff. You'll still get the mail in your inbox. Create a filter and archive all mails received with the second ID. One ID, different purposes! :cool:

I have gmail id also and it doesn't contain any spammed emails

I have a g-mail ID and an indiatimes ID. G-mail is OK. I'll try what HP Fan has said. But I don't have the courage to open my Indiatimes ID. God knows how many junk mails will I have to encounter if I open it! If I don't open it for one days it gets filled with more than 50 junk mails. And I have not opened it for three weeks, so calculate.......
And man, people know how to send these mails "I am 20, marry me", "You've won 20 crores", " "Want to create an account in xyz bank?", "we are offering great discounts on credit cards" -I'm fed up.
