In terms of test match batsmen it was absolutely stacked. Go look at the list of most runs in tests and a massive number of them were in their primes during the mid 2000s. Then you also have guys like A.B, Amla, KP, Cook and Clarke who were just starting their careers.

I feel like the 90s was a stronger era for bowlers but 2000s was definitely the decade of the batsman.
