India won the toss and elected to bat first but will be bitterly disappointed at a poor batting display that has seen them bowled out on day 1 of the first test match however the Aussies won't be too happy either at completing the day with 1 wicket back in the pavilion, Mark Taylor's off stump removed while leaving a ball that cut back inside.

My Custom Test Championship has reached its conclusion, now onto the latter stages of my Custom ODI Championship.

Read all about it here at www.sillypointcricket.com

I’m doing a little custom T20 tournament as Yorkshire as well where I’ve put myself in the team. Next up will be a custom competition with my own closed innings match and me in the England team (4 day matches, bat twice, 100 overs max each innings each day). That’s what I love about this game, the unlimited customisation options.

All the best with your own tournaments etc however you play the game. I’ll be moving onto exclusively hard mode from now on too... belatedly!

England begin their tour of New Zealand in Auckland, where the first of 3 test matches take place.

Having won the toss, England elected to bowl on a hard, dry pitch, with plenty of carry (following the latest patch), but so far it has been New Zealand who have been on top.
Following the fall of Jeet Raval’s wicket in the first over of the match, New Zealand and in particular Kane Williamson, have wrestled back the momentum and finished the first session on 148/1

J.Raval 0 (6)
T.Latham 42* (86)
K.Williamson 82* (84)

S.Broad 1/54

Afternoon session to follow!

Auckland 1st Test

Day 1
Second Session

England fight back early on in the second session as Stuart Broad picks up the wicket of Kane Williamson, with him unable to add to his score from before lunch.

Ross Taylor joined Tom Latham at the crease and the pair added a further 53 runs before Chris Woakes got himself into the wickets column. A short ball that Taylor couldn’t resist was pulled to Dominic Sibley who took an easy catch at square leg.

That brought Henry Nicholls to the crease, but he failed to add to New Zealand’s good start and fell for a 9 ball duck to the bowling of Jack Leach.

Latham continued to battle hard and has taken his score up to 96* and as the second session comes to a close, he will be looking to bring up three figures in the final session.

New Zealand 247/4

T.Latham 96* (163)
K.Williamson 82 (92)
R.Taylor 24 (61)
H.Nicholls 0 (9)
BJ.Watling 12 (25)

S.Broad 2/77
C.Woakes 1/76
J.Leach 1/28

Final session of day 1 to come!

Day 1
Third Session

A session that belongs to New Zealand as they add 105 runs for the loss of no wickets. Tom Latham brings up his century and finishes the day with a 143 runs to his name.

At the other end BJ Watling brought up his half century and helped his side stem the flow of wickets.

The England bowlers were unlucky at times as they found the edge, only for it to fly through the gaps in the slips.

2 sessions to 1 in favour of New Zealand as they finish the day on 352/4 having lost the the toss and being put in.

T.Latham 143* (246)
BJ.Watling 59* (117)

Ah good stuff! NZ tough in their own backyard! What level do you play at?
Proving that way, the match reports are slightly delayed compared to the actual state of play and let me tell you, they have plenty of runs already! I play on Legend and hard for batting, bowling and fielding. Currently playing around with the physics as well to try and adjust to this new patch, they have been ducking my good length balls! So many byes so far

Nice one, may give that a try. How do you find it with the shot force being that low?

Yeah I like to really have to play well to get boundaries and it also stops the edge to the boundary thing happening too much.
Yeah nothing like an edge that drops short of the keeper, then the next edge flies through a gap in the slips at waist height for four! May reduce the shot force in the next test, claim that the Groundsman forgot to cut the outfield
