He is only a big star in T20 cricket, played decently in the 2000's, but now the selectors aren't giving him a chance to play for WI.

90's has to be Sachin Tendulkar. In 2000 when Ganguly era came in, Sachin was already a senior statesman in the side. The 90's is defined by Sachin and Lara. I would actually say "Sachin and Lara" for the 90's. Akram was a legend of the 90's, but when we take about superstar of the decade, the batsmen do have the advantage because their exploits are more in the eye.

For me, only the 80's and 90's give clear picture. From the 00's, you have so many people that it's impossible to pick.

90s was probably more Lara/Warne to be honest.
00s was probably more ponting/murali (who judging by the rankings of players seem to be the most criminally under-rated players nowadays, but I was there)

sachin was more about the accumulated career, if you were doing it 1990-2010 then Sachin was the only cricketer that was an actual great over that time period but split into decades those others had more short term impact.

Gonna give this a shot:

80's: Viv Richards
90s: BC Lara
00: Tendulkar
10: M. Clarke

for the 2010s was tempted to say Kohli but lets face it most of the opposing players/fans dislike him because of his poor attitude, brilliant batsman and easily the best in the game at the moment but by no means has been an ambassador of the game.

After doing some research I am going with Dennis Lilee for the 70s.
