New PCPL franchise owner aus5892 (also known as Dean) has announced his delight in acquiring the Sydney Soldiers, and has hinted at many exciting plans for the new side.

Dean said that he is looking forward to taking on the job, and will inject life, spirit and sponsorships into the team. He has organised a press conference for this weekend, when he will announce some of his plans.

Dean announces stadium, sponsorship deals

Sydney Soldiers owner aus5892 (aka Dean) has announced his first major coup, with a stadium deal as well as five new sponsors for the team.

The team will be sponsored by Network Seven, McDonald's, Boost Juice Bars and Dean's blog, Out On The Full. Dean also announced the signing of Nike as clothing sponsors. The team will be officially known as the 'Seven Sydney McSoldiers.'

In addition, Dean publicised the new stadium deal, which will see the Soldiers play their matches at ANZ Stadium, Sydney's Olympic stadium. He said that the SCG was simply not big enough, and that the larger stadium would provide the teams' fans with better opportunities to see them play. Additionally, he promised that Australia's only franchise would venture outside Sydney to play matches at the MCG, Melbourne, the GABBA, Brisbane and Subiaco Oval in Perth (which edged out the WACA due to its superior capacity). When asked if matches would be played in Adelaide or Hobart, he just laughed.

He said that more exciting announcements were to come soon.
