Man like Moeen (Mobeen, excellent show if you're not seen it) averages 13 against Australia and 65 with the ball. Surely the Bazball option is no spinner at all :laughter:
I think they'll try and hammer any spinner, so better to have someone who knows what that's like. Bazball option would be another seamer and Stokes bowling spin.

Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing for England to have Moeen back.

Obviously he will further solidify the England batting lineup and give an option of an experienced spinner in the absence of Leach but doesn't it reflect the derth of spin bowling talent at the FC level in England? Surely there has to be someone next in line for Leach as a specialist spinner.

Moeen is just a stop-gap solution and with all due respect, ain't someone you would expect to take wickets in a bunch in a Test match meaning England would be a bowler short if they play Moeen as a specialist spinner.

To add to the debate, while I haven't followed county cricket closely, I remember watching a leggie named Parkinson who looked good to me.

What do the local fans make of him?

Are any spinners coming up the ranks for the long format in England?
