To be honest, Smith should never have been allowed to resume his innings after a blow like that but I'm glad his welfare is coming first this morning.
I'm finding the rush to vilify Jofra Archer to be quite tiresome. When I bowled quick I used to hit bowlers and sometimes wicket-keepers with some regularity and it's impossible to know how to react in those situations. Nervous laughter is very much a thing. It could be argued that Archer could have gone to check on Smith, but he was sprawled out sparko on his back surrounded by close fielders and medical staff - a) it's quite clear that he wasn't okay, and b) going over and potentially getting in the way of said medical attention wouldn't help him.
People need to disembark the blame train.
