India is worst fielding side in entire test playing nations.

I don't think sri lanka will be too down. why was samaraweera not selected for the two final games.

not that it makes much difference, Kapu and Kandamby would have been the ones axed and both played well.

in all honesty I think Jayawardene needs to take a look at his priorities, sri lanka are getting to stage where they can afford to bench their best batsmen and allocate some as test specialists. Given Mahela's recent form, perhaps it's time he took a rest from one day cricket and gave guys performing better than him a solid go.

maybe his presence in the wings will get them performing better to keep him out.

i think that lose was good for India b/c now they will be all charged up, and win the final, (all though i was hoping SL would win), and break the final jinx.

why there is only 1 final? they should've played 2 (+ last match, stage match) and best of 3 wins.

just as i said.

Harbajhan should have been MOM and Sachin MOS.

I had a feeling india would win as well MacLovin, india and sri lanka seem to be quite like that. They trade blows a lot each one coming back after a beating.

the test series between the two could be incredibly interesting if sri lanka's batsmen can get a grip of the conditions.

We'll be in deep doogy if Gambhir isn't back for the CT. I think KKD should continue to open, but that's unlikely.

Badri deserves a go, especially if Dravid is to open.

Once Gambhir, Sehwag and Zaheer are back, this team will be really, really strong.

Sachin Tendulkar
Virender Sehwag
Gautam Gambhir
Rahul Dravid
Yuvraj Singh
Suresh Raina
*+ MS Dhoni
Harbhajan Singh
Zaheer Khan
Praveen Kumar
Ishant Sharma

I would have Tendulkar continue as opener because then there's less chance that he'll aggravate a small injury as chances are that he'll have a longer innings break. Dravid at 3 and Gambhir at 4 becasue Dravid should bat at 3 and I didn't know where to slot Gambhir after that.

I wouldn't mess Gambhir around too much. He is the sort of player who bats throughout the whole innings, I'd keep him at 3 and put Dravid at 4.

On second thought, I agree with you. Dravid is more versatile. I've changed it now.

I think Gauti will be back for the Champions trophy in which case, the batting order gets sorted with him opening and Dravid back at No.3. Yuvraj and Dhoni will swap places at No.4 and 5 while Raina comes next. Ideally I would want to have Abhishek Nayar in place of Yusuf Pathan (also because in SA, Nayar's pace might work better).

Talk about pitches favouring the side batting first. SL at least made a decent effort in the chase compared to India. It's a shame Jayasuriya and Dilshan got out so early, if they had another 10 more overs this game could have been really interesting.

Good performance by Tendulkar as usual and Harby.
