your Asia XI is very weird. well so is your ROW.

you took Sanga and Dhoni? way too many ALL. and in ROW, you only got 1 opening bowler, and like...6 ALL

shouldn't this be in the cricket discussion, not the international tours.

For ROW Flintoff may be an all-rounder but he used to open the bowling for England alot so its not a problem. So Steyn/Flintoff will have the new cherry.

Having alot all-rounders is not a problem either, especially when 3 of those all-rounders like Freddie, Bravo & Vettori are front line bowlers. So you basically get a front line bowler - who can bat effectively, which is great since in a T20 you need as much batting as possible.

Secondly whats wrong with Sanga & Dhoni in the same team?. Sanga can bat - Dhoni can have the gloves - simple. You are not losing anything.

With Asia the same thing applies with the all-rounder argument. Sakib for eg may be all-rounder, but he is a front line left-arm spinner too.

War added 0 Minutes and 58 Seconds later...

shouldn't this be in the cricket discussion, not the international tours.

Ye my mistake. Sometimes the different sections confuse me..

i hv two questions from you
1. Dilshan is the most successful batsman in T20 format right now. why you didn't pick him:facepalm
2. KP in out of form form in last few months. and you include him in World XI
Other than that it is pretty decent line up:)

1.Well for me although Dilshan is indeed playing very well in T20s (although i'm not sure as you said if he is indeed the best T20 batsman currently). I think as an opener & Gayle playing well is better than him. Dilshan can be 12th man for now.

2. Did you see KP batting in recent T20s vs Pakistan?. Once he playing like that he is must pick in a T20 World XI.

I don't really follow 20/20 cricket all that much but:

Asia XI:

3.K Sangakkara (C)
4.Y Singh
5.M Dhoni (WK)
6.S Raina
7.S Al Hasan
8.S Afridi
9.U Gul
10.M Aamer
11.L Malinga

Rest of the World:

1.C Gayle
2.B McCullum (WK)
3.S Watson
4.K Pietersen
5.R Taylor
6.A De Villers
7.D Bravo
8.A Flintoff
9.D Vettori (C)
10.S Tait
11.D Nannes

World XI:

1.C Gayle
2.B McCullum (WK)
3.S Watson
4.Y Singh
5.R Taylor
6.A De Villers
7.A Flintoff
8.S Afridi
9.D Vettori (C)
10.L Malinga
11.S Tait

I really wouldn't know, if I had to re-type this the squads would probably look different again :p

lol Gayle is out of form

Is Gayle really out of form?. Or is he just being exposed technically & mentally againts quality pace bowlers, as he normally has been throughout his international career. Thus is failing to score runs?.

I certainly think its the latter & i wouldn't be surprised when the Windies go home to play Zimbabwe in a few months, that Gayle suddenly starts smoking runs again..

  1. Don Bradman Cricket 14 - Steam PC
1. Gayle
2. Dilshan
3. McCullum (wk)
4. S. Watson
5. Yuvraj
6. Afridi
7. Misbah ul Haq
8. Vettori (c)
9. Steyn
10. Gul
11. Malinga

This team lacks solidity...but I guess one really doesn't need it in 20 overs, plus it's not like these are all sloggers.
