It was a shocking decision but not the worst ever given as Nasser stupidly opened his stupid gob saying. It was a very full ball so it was extremly hard to pick up whether it was moving in or not. Also the batsmans movement down legside probably helped put him off. I think that the umpiring ive been seeing over this ashes and natwest series has been top notch. All the umpires involved have done a great job.

in the one dayers it was quite good umpiring, but to me, the only good umpire this series has been Aleem Da. Rudi Keortzen has been appaling, hopefully it will be me in his spot one day, doin a better job pf course!!

Well that decision has cost Australia a tie in this game, as England have won by 2 runs.

What about the decisions fo bell & Pietersen, in the end two wrongs don't make a right but i feel the better team won tbh.

Freddie put in one of the great all round test performances.

Well done MV and England.

Ya, i agree. that decision was shocking and cost Australia the match.

:mad

Just one more thing, Can Taufel umpire in the Ashes? Or can't he as he is Australian.

It works both ways, what about the dismissals of Bell and Pietersen who shouldn't have been given out.

Imo Dar and Bucknor/Venkat should be the umpires for the next test.

Ya,Taufel can't as he is an Australian. Sometimes its this way and sometimes its that way.

Venkat retired and I heard Bucknor retired too. So Aleem Da is left.

Billy Bowden is the greatest umpire entertainer of all time love is six jesture :D. As for all the other umpires they all do a good job its hard when you got players and fans screaming at you. Yes they do make mistakes but we never picked them up until all this technology cam in and I reckon there was some proper goofs years ago.

I know that has not really answered the question but drinking cider makes you ramble on. Just ask the girls up my local . :D :cheers

to be honest England would have won the game by more than 50 runs had some decisions not gone against them as well.

Every indian fan (including myself) will only have -ve feedback for steve bucknor.

But I think the whole world accepts the fact that he is a very good umpire who has probably made a few mistakes in matches involving india.

Steve Bucknor is a very good umpire. That he made one or two mistakes in India doesn't make him a bad umpire.

Aleem DaR, and not Aleem Da, made some good decisions in the first Test. Billy Bowden is also very good and when he was young people where laughing about his umpire gestures. I don't have seen much of Simon Taufel.

Here is the ball in question:

49.4 Lee to SP Jones, no run, full, straight, bang in front of the
stumps, Jones has not got a clue and pads straight up. He's on the
back foot. That is absolutely plumb to the whole world - minus
Billy Bowden
That is an absolute shocker of a decision from Bowden. Ball was
hitting middle and Simon Jones wasn't even playing a shot!

End of over 50 (18 runs) England 180/9 (lead by 279 runs)

Eventually England got 182 runs. So that decision was crucial.

More often when our master was in great forum :( :mad
and it caused India the match on both the occation.

& our little master is a player who can win matches for our team single handedly.Like a one man army.

This is just my view.Don't start saying I'm against West Indies people.

it's irrelevant as both Bell and KP were given out when they shouldn't have been.
