WC 2007 Final

I am not goin to predict any team... whichever team i support that team ends up in loosing terribly.. not even a ordinary loss

Its going to be a good contest between Lankans and Aussies. I feel, bowling is still the weak point for Aussies.

McGrath... He is doing nothing special..but he is maintaining his perfect line with accuracy everytime ( i agree which is tough to do as a bowler ) and waiting for the batsmen to make mistakes. Yesterday also, Kallis and Prince comitted suicide against McGrath. So playing watchfully and maintaining patience against McGrath is the key... Deny him the wicket and success will be on Lankan side.

And Tait, though he has had a good WCup, he is always there to give runs. Watch for a bad delivery and punish him.. This will do the trick..

Hogg... definitely Lankans are better players of spinners. If Lankans bat first and put 280 on board, its going to be tough for Aussies. But if they(Lankans) end up in chasing 360 like what happened in WC03, then its going to be a hattrick for Aussies.. I prefer Lankans batting first though!

So, the first 15-20 overs is going to matter... if Lanka can hold their wickets in hand, then the contest should not be a one sided again. ;)

Our bowling isn't weak at all, it's the best in the competition. I don't think Sri Lanka will play Hogg any better, it seems impossible to pick his wrongun' at the moment. I think this game will be actual making of Shaun Tait in International cricket & that he'll rip through the Sri Lankan batting lineup.

I'm backing another crushing victory for Australia. Every single game we've played in this world cup we've absolutely crushed the opposition.

Quite hard to see how Australia can lose from here. Although if they take it to Tait then they may be able to get through the early stages but pretty much have a solid bowling line-up and a great batting line-up.

Lets see... Patience is the main key though... If Lankan batsmen aren't going to make silly mistakes out of tension or nervousness, then bowlers are going to be denied for gifted wickets. If they become tense and play like what we did in WC03, thats it, result will be obvious in first 10 overs of the game. Mental strength do play a vital role.. Aussies don't have that problem becos this is the fourth time they are appearing in big finals continuously.

The battle to watch will be the Sri Lankan bowlers against the Australian batsmen but the Sri Lankan batsmen againt the Australian bowlers will decide the match. Look for Australia to bowl if they win the toss

that's generally what decides any match.

surendar what the hell are you on about?...the australian attack has provided superb back-up to the batsmen to the point where neither has actually been a weakness. sure the bowling attack struggled earlier in the year but in this tournament they have been nothing short of sensational.

With Top 5 batsmen for India(Sachin,Sourav,Sehwag,Dravid and Yuvi) having nearly 50000 runs under their belt, what do u call it then ;) Thats y i used the word " seemed to be "!!!
Which means what? South Africa smashed India in their last series, were the in form side of the competition and many people were indeed tipping India to bow out in the pool stage. History means nothing when you get down to now. If Australia wasn't the strongest side on paper then South Africa was, or New Zealand or Sri Lanka, but India is a long way off.

Says the man with two domestic teams in the same country. In my opinion anyone who can't pick one team is not a true fan of either, and can just jump whenever one is not playing well. Domestic teams in different countries/competitions is a different thing.

One of them is Nottingham Forest, which is a football team.

I hope to god this will be a close match. I am rooting for Sri Lanka, but I don't mind either way. A good match is what I am looking for.

Punk what are you doing here when you should be makin BLIC07 kits?? :laugh kiddin mate!

Ok, now what I hope is that there are no bad umpire desicions in the final. If the wrong end result were to be had due to bad desicions, then that would be real sad in my view! I hope it's a great and fair match. :)

I have noticed several times, you want people to support only their national teams.... Just off the topic, i know that you support Schumi and Ferrari... he is a german.. Why is it so then :p You shd have supported only Mark Webber then.... Its a sport.. as i have said before, there are people who love cricket and there are some who love only their team's cricket.

Who were that inform side? I didnt understand, sorry! If its India, sorry you got it wrong.. when India went to SA, they were worst in form after crushing caribean ODI defeat and worse DLF series and worst Champions Trophy.

Boring final

I dont think it will be boring unless Lankans play some rubbish cricket like what SA did yesterday :p

Just wait and see... :) Hope a great contest takes place without any silly things like gifting the wickets away :(

I'm really worried that McGrath was awarded the M.O.M yesterday. There was no fair reason for that judgement. He took only 2 wickets and they too were not very decisive. I think it was done to give him the Man of the Series award. Mahela was a threat to him. But McGrath is the clear leader now.
I'm disgusted!
