Story We need a revival

I feel that the amount of stories being closed is getting rather high and this forum needs a revival. Post your opinions here and vote in the poll if you agree or if you disagree. I think this is a major issue that needs to be sorted out with some awesome stories that we will see staying open as the closing rate is increasing! Discuss.

I don't understand what you are proposing? Do you think we should ban people who close their stories? If people don't have time to carry them on then that's their business. It's only when people start creating many stories which don't make it to their second page that it becomes a problem. I don't see that happening so I'm not sure what you're getting at.

What my point is that I feel that the rate of stories closing is increasing which I feel is a sad and bad thing and I think we need to revive the forum with some new stories that will stay open for a long time. If stories are closing though there's nothing we can do to stop it.

I think what GG is trying to get at is the amount of people that close their stories complaining that they haven't got enough time to do it, which is fair enough and i'm not going to dispute that, but then start off new stories and do the exact same thing again and again meaning that there are multiple stories that have been closed down that have been done by one member when there is a possibility that they could be continued.

Yes that and the fact that there are more stories being closed down than ever. What I am trying to get at is. Get more stories in here and stick to them!

TBH, I made this point some time last year when people were creating about 3-5 threads and then having them all closed. However recently I don't think that their have been many stories being closed it is just the story forum has not been particularly active recently. It'll pick itself up again and I encourage everyone to stick at their story through these hard times. You'll reap the rewards later on.

Fantastic post Tom I agree with the last bit completely like I might win SOTM in the Other Games Stories forum if my story is nominated so get to the stories forum and get nominated for SOTM who knows you might win

To just add on to some points that have already been made, I do think some of you are afraid saying that you need to stop the story for a few weeks and rather saying that you just close the story. All you need to say is that you need a few weeks off for some reason and then keep the story open so you can come back to it. Trust me nobody will be disappointed that you said that, I mean nobody is going to come round your house and inspect on what your doing to jusify the reason why you've stopped the story are they.
