I dunno which series is going to be more one sided, this one or the india v new zealand series.

that's the only thing worth taking bets on, both will be 3-0.

Pretty impressive start so far by WI. Gayle carrying on the aggressive knocks from Sehwag. Was looking at the WI side and it looked like they only had 3 bowlers but Russell appears to be the 4th and definitely shouldn't be batting at 5 as cricinfo have listed.

Dumb captaincy by Sangakkara, bowling his spinners into the ground on a first day wicket when they are getting pasted.
Gayle is monstering them, Brian Lara was right, if anyone will break his record it will be Gayle.

Cheers for Gayle, it's pretty great to see top class batting from the West Indian lineup after a long long time.

Bit surprised SRI are still persisting with Mendis to be honest. AFAIS, since that series of his vs IND 2008, batsmen slowly but surely have decoded his mystery. You just have to play as medium pacer & he is fairly easy to play. Herath should have really played.

Darren Bravo as its been known for a while. Batting style looks everything like Lara. Windies potentially once they can get a fully fit Taylor/Edwards/Roach bowling together have the makings of fairly solid test team again.

Superb stuff from Gayle, wish he could do all these on more consistently. It's just so entertaining.

:clap Well played Gayle. Hope you cross 300 tomorrow. Funny how the SL bowling looks a bit lost with Murali.

What a knock from Gayle, like Papa_Smurf said the SL test match attack is nothing to be feared these days, without Vaas, Murali and Malinga.

Russell will bat down at #8 behind Bravo, Baugh and Sammy. I am surprised that they went with Russell over Benn as the 2nd spinner. West Indies already have 4 pace bowlers with Roach, Pascal, Bravo and Sammy so I am not sure if there is a need for another pace bowler in Russell. Unless Benn is injured.

I will hold my celebrations until later because as Gayle stated last time WI played a match here they scored 400+but still lost the test so there is still plenty of cricket left.

According to his profile Russell is a right arm fast bowler so that extra pace could be handy and his record to date looks good. Tough place to debut for him but will be interesting seeing how he goes.

Gayle could get Lara's record at this rate, if he can get himself in again there is no reason why he can't.
