That 3rd game shows how much indispensable KL Rahul is becoming, to the T20 XI. He is the guy who can give us those rapid fast starts to propel our scores way higher and into the modern day T20 standards. And with him, Rohit also seems on an overdrive.

The shootout should be between Pant vs Samson and if Pant gets the nod, then Samson fights with Iyer and Manish for the the 2nd batting spot in the XI. Samson better get games ahead of the T20 WC if we need a proper backup keeper for that event (unless we are going back 100 steps by asking MSD to pad up).

Kohli needs to calm down. Hope Anushka's on top of his health checkups. Wondering where the guy's blood pressure is right now!

Honestly without Rahul's innings we would've just scored 185-190. Credits to the approach he brought in. And Kohli's amazing finish helped us get to the above par total of 240.

Ravi Shastri says that they are still looking at Dhoni for the 2020 WT20. Are Ishan Kishan, KS Bharat and Sanju Samson just for the name sake according to this clown ?

If you ask me then Dhoni is the first player who I would miss in this Indian team but does that mean I would want him to play ? No, because we need to move on from him now not because he isn't a great player but because he has served India enough and it's high time to get a new keeper now. Because, if we have to make a decision for whom to select a keeper for the 2023 World Cup then it's now !! Because after 2020 WT20 there is not much time either to find a new one for 2021 WT20 which is in India and till the time it ends maybe we might figure it out that who it is, which gives that player a good 2 years to access himself and find the right balance in his game for the One-Day format and prepare for the 2023 World Cup.

Thought it is expected to be cloudy in Chennai today I don't think there would be a rainfall. Whichever team wins the toss today should try and bat first and put a big score and the board. In the 2nd innings the pitch would get slower and the bounce lower and it would start spinning which would make the runs a bit difficult to come by. A 300 score would be a winning score on such surface while 270-280 is par.

These runs are doing world of good to Rishabh Pant. I was confident that Pant would get that confidence as he would have more time in One-day Cricket as compared to the T20Is. He is equally being supported by Iyer. India is blessed with players like Mayank Agarwal and Shreyas Iyer who have shown so much maturity at this level.

I think the batting effort was worth appreciating as far as Iyer and Pant were concerned. I know we do have a above par total but this is not as dominating which a team like England is so good at. There is still room for improvement.

I did not really expected this coming. Like I felt we would just about score 300 and West Indies would make a mockery of the chase. Brilliant from Pant and Iyer.

Felt Rohit could've scored with a better rate while Rahul's innings was a big positive going forward.

On a side note, Rahul seems to give a complete knockout punch to his senior player Dhawan. He is scoring well in both the formats i.e ODI and T20Is and Dhawan is already no longer the part of our Test squad. I wouldn't be surprised to see Dhawan being left out after few series. It's too hard on him but we have to look forward. We just somehow need to move away with one of our openers as we can't do with a 35+ opening pair. Even if Rohit Sharma wouldn't have scored he too would've to face an axe but right now it's Dhawan who needs to be communicated about his future and what his plans are and whether he would be able to maintain that fitness level.[DOUBLEPOST=1576672177][/DOUBLEPOST]Don't know what's Shardul doing in the blues today. We have seen him being taken for cleaners in the past. He just isn't a bowler for this format !

I seriously don't know why are we making this an issue though ? Kuldeep Yadav was never out of our scheme of things. We were just trying different bowlers to find a back up for our spinners in case if anyone gets injured. If in case they get injured it is we people who would be firing at the team management. This is the time where we can find players and we are doing it.

This is the reason Kuldeep should be playing!
