If India were to win the under 19s and the upcoming World Cup it would send interest the Women's IPL to another level.
Tough to win WC T20 for IND. Even with the performance the Eves are putting in the tri series.

India inning the U-19 doesnt mean anything. The template of cricket needs to be replicated at the senior levels in order for India to be a world beater.

Not really! Crowds will stay stay away from it. Do not expect full houses and massive fan followings at least in the initial 2-3 years. India needs a couple of superstars- maybe some consistent standout individual performances would catapult them into the big league.

I see the WPL as a good place for the professionals to make a buck. Nothing more at this stage.

India doesnt have the crowds for WPL. How many times have you seen international stadiums jam packed for a women's international T20 game? Never! (In India)

The BCCI has money and hence can actually pull this off. They will write it off as a bad debt in a few years time tbh. If they were to take the WPL and host it in other countries, it might help them fill the stadiums and get some gate receipts.

More than 45000 people watched recent India vs Australia T20, the crowd is there. With quality of cricket being raised due to WIPL and if bcci use right marketing strategy like giving free tickets or 50% off to women or all in the initial stages, WIPL is here to stay. On side note this our first ICC trophy in a decade, well done girls.

What's the point? It is going to be an Eng v Aus final anyway, with either of them winning.
