For numerous reasons, great to see Topley playing.

    It's very one-sided again.

Yeah, I really wish for a stronger Ireland team. I hope their domestic structure improves and we can get a strong Irish cricket team in the future

Their test status probably came a bit too late to say the least, right when a few of their best players were/are about to retire.

Definitely a few years later than deserved.

The lack of county opportunities will be a big impact on them developing. Delany, Tector, Tucker have not and, unless signed as an overseas player, will not get the chance to play against better players until the domestic sides improve. Campher will probably have played to a decent standard having been under-19s for South Africa.

Of course, now the Kolpak window is closed in England I wouldn't be surprised if a few more South Africans ended up in Ireland.

Campher was of Irish heritage and so got a chance to switch over, wonder how it would work in the future though for other such potentially interested players.

As far as I know, there are only three domestic teams in Irish cricket in contrast to Bangladesh who had six and Afghanistan who had five while starting out so it should help a bit in terms of quality (although county cricket is obviously of higher standard). A bit unfortunate but understandable as to why they are not considered as domestic talents in England.

Are the Reds allowed to play first-class cricket now? Last I knew was that they would only play T20 cricket.

In first class, only 2 teams are there. Not three.

Pretty sure that there were three teams. Lightning, Warrior and Knights. Did one of them disband in the middle?

Been quite disappointed with Ireland so far. They really struggle to put on anything near a par score.

I think that's why they prefer to chase. First match they looked too eager to score this match they looked too scared to get out.

It's a real delight watching Bairstow in ODI cricket.
