actually gony is a good bowler... may be those of u who r saying he didnt perform that well thats because he got smacked hard by jayasuriya that day...

Does anybody have any comments to make on my XI?

Shravi:

Adam Gilchrist + - There are better keepers then him ATM. Plus he has retired from International Cricket, not sure if we can count him.
Matthew Hayden - Good choice
Gautam Gambhir - Good choice. Should open with Haydos.
Shane Watson- Good choice.
Andrew Symonds- Overrated, shouldn't be in the team taking recent performances in consideration.
Rohit Sharma - Good choice.
Andrew Flintoff - No. I'm sorry, I know he's a great player and on the comeback trail but come on. It's hard on all the other guys who have been performing so well for the last year or two to get snubbed by an injured allrounder who can't bat anymore. No.
Irfan Pathan - Good choice.
Shane Warne * - Good, although not sure if we can count him due to him retiring from Intl Cricket.
Glenn McGrath - Same as above.
Brett Lee - Decent choice here, I think there are better T20 bowlers then Lee.

I'd give it a 5/10.

shravi man ur team is like the old aussie squad back in 2003 world cup... with 3 indians it will make it stronger... not sure about flintoff though...

Looks very imbalanced to me.There is more of batsmen in the team. Plus Irfan Pathan hasnt really shown his class as a bolwer. S Akthar ? Definite no for me.
You will also need a couple of spinners.Yuvraj and Rohit could fill in as part-timers,but not good enough.

Sanath Jayasuirya
Matthew Hayden
Gautam Ghambir
Rohit Sharma
Micheal Hussey
MS Dhoni
Dwayne Bravo
Daniel Vettori
Irfan Pathan
Sohail Tanvir
Nathan Bracken

Looking at your team,it seems like you have gone in with players who performed in the IPL. Bravo and Tanvir could make way for a spinner and a better batting all-rounder,i feel.Maybe Gayle and Ab de Villiers could fit in there.

Actually, Pathan has been in great bowling form in the recent months, excluding the South Africa Test Series, his limited overs has been very good

Anyways, here's a revised one.

1) Hayden
2) Gambhir
3) Yuvraj
4) Rohit Sharma
5) Kevin Pieterson
6) MS Dhoni +*
7) Shane Watson
8) Irfan Pathan
9) Danie Vettori
10) Muralitharan
11) Dale Steyn

12) Zaheer Khan

I think three openers is enough to be in an XI.
If my XI were "real", Sanath would have the right to slam-bang through the first couple of overs and get out cheaply in the process as well. Gayle, I feel, is not as aggressive (although he is more aggressive then 95% of batsman). I think Sanath's bowling is better, and fielding too.

I think Bravo should make way for Watson, in my XI. Tanvir has really come of age and has become a fine bowler.

Shaun Marsh is making a real good case for himself. Y Pathan is another. Muralitharan wouldn't come close to making the World 20/20 going by his outings in all 20/20. Warne would have to be a shoe in.

I agree with Marsh and Pathan.Marsh seems to have taken a cue from Gambhir's batting. Its just so perfect.
