The tri series itself will bring in enough money, would much rather have an extra Test match. I mean what can be achieved by playing just 1 Test match??

Centuries for Taylor, Sibanda & Masakadza today :)

Not if the money keeps falling into the wrong hands.

It's good to see cricket still spluttering along in Zimbabwe, even if it's not in the health it was before the country's economy went arse up.

There have also been some very encouraging young players this season, although it's hard to say whether they're being flattered by the average standard (Bradley Wadlan's bowling average) or if there is genuine quality on show (Sibanda, Masakadza, Taylor).

Naturally, those three would be among the first names on the sheet, along with other regulars like Brian Vitori and Sean Williams, but who else would you like to see getting a go in red? Perhaps a re-call for Forster Mutizwa, or debuts for Luke Jongwe or Don Tiripano?

- Vusi Sibanda
- Sikandar Raza
- Hamilton Masakadza
- Brendan Taylor
- Sean Williams
- Forster Mutizwa
- Luke Jongwe
- Prosper Utseya
- Don Tiripano
- Brian Vitori
- Tendai Chatara

... Doesn't look very strong, really, does it?

Where is Chigumbura, Malcolm Waller, Mushangwe, Mawoyo, Chakabva, Shingi Masakadza, Panyangara & Mutumbami? The XI would look stronger if you included some of these guys. Depends on the format I guess though.

I feel that Kudakwashe Munyede and John Nyumbu could push Utseya out of the side sooner rather than later. Wellington Masakadza & Brighton Mugochi started the season well, but haven't been going as well lately. :)

The Eagles are in a strong position to win their match against the Tuskers. Vitori with 5 wickets and centuries for Raza, Chakabva & Chigumbura :)

Whilst in the other game Malcolm Waller has scored a century and is picking up wickets! (Never have rated his bowling).

I'll post this here because it's probably the most relevant place to do so...

Zimbabwe Cricket News: Mark Vermeulen picked in Zimbabwe A squad for Bangladesh | ESPN Cricinfo

So a return for Vermeulen....Good to see Luke Jongwe in both squads, will be good experience for him. This could be a crucial tour for Malcolm Waller as his recent performances for Zimbabwe haven't exactly been great and I think that there are better players than him come the visit of South Africa & Australia.

I would've liked to have seen Peter Moor get a call up though.

Luke is a promising young player for sure. Played lots of cricket with and against him over the years.

Is it true that he was quicker a few years back? I heard he was bowling good speeds during the U19 world cup in Australia 2012. If that is true he must of pulled back his speed to bowl more line and length.

How has your cricket been going? Have you been able to play much cricket during the off season? I know they have some small tournaments during this time of the year. :)

He has had raw pace since about 2010/2011...He still tends to spray it a bit at times. Id say on average he bowls around 133 or so( except in India when we went there last year, as it slows down quite a bit I found, except with Rabada, he was quick !!)

I should be in the u19 setup again this year. Not playin too much at the moment...just here and there on the weekends.
