Not too many games here, just the one T20 and five ODIs.

Good opportunity for both teams to blood some youth. But the Windies should overwhelm these minnows at home

Looking for Darren Bravo and Kevin McClean to play in this series. They better get selected. And one of the young spinners.

Not even, his one day record is even worse then his 4 day. Gayle is the captain. Ganags international career is done.

Barath
Gayle
Sarwan
Chanderpaul
Darren Bravo
Dwayne Bravo
Ramdin
Taylor
Roach
Edwards (if fit, if not then McClean)
Dave Mohammed

Enough T&T players there already, not to mention Pollard who will probably get a shot ahead of younger Bravo even tho Darren Bravo deserves it more.

THREE former Zimbabwe team cricketers could return to play for the country after they were included in the provisional squad for the West Indies tour. Standardsport understands that the national selectors have named batsman Murray Goodwin, all rounder Sean Ervine and Doug Marillier in the 30-strong provisional squad

The 30 Man Squad

Elton Chigumbura, Sean Ervine, Doug Marillier, Goodwin, Greg Lamb, Sean Williams, Forster Mutizwa, Trevor Garwe, Raymond Price, Chatara, Tawanda Mupariwa, Kyle Jarvis, Chris Mpofu, Brendan Taylor, Nyumbu, Vusi Sibanda, Dion Ebrahim, Timycen Maruma, Hamilton Masakadza, Taurai Muzarabani, Greg Strydom, Garvin Ewing, Stuart Matsikenyeri, Charles Coventry, Tatenda Taibu, Edward Rainsford, Chamu Chibhabha, Prosper Utseya

I must say it's great to see Zimbabwe cricket bring back guys like Marillier and Blignaut (I'm not really a fan of bringing back old man Goodwin however).

Anything that pushes the zimmers back up to something like Test strength is good in my book, if Flower coming out of retirement meant they play Tests again then I'm all for it.

What happened to them is such a shame, they had a good side in the mid to late 90s, even a latter crop includding Blignaut, Ervine and Goodwin would have made a fighting side, but their current side lacks any strength in depth. They were so destroyed by politics that they were losing to the bangles, they might even have lost to the pop group by the same name it got so bad

Boo! As Hmarka said, a four day FC game would be great. I think they played one v Sri Lanka a few years back.

Zimbabwe include two rookies in squad for West Indies | Zimbabwe Cricket News | Cricinfo.com

Squad: Prosper Utseya (capt), Brendan Taylor, Tatenda Taibu, Hamilton Masakadza, Ray Price, Graeme Cremer, Charles Coventry, Vusi Sibanda, Stuart Matsikenyeri, Greg Lamb, Elton Chigumbura, Shingirai Masakadza, Timycen Maruma, Chris Mpofu, Kyle Jarvis.

However there was no place in the squad for Dougier Marillier, Sean Ervine or Andy Blignaut, whose hopes for international comebacks had been boosted when they were named in a 30-man provisional squad on February 1.

Not a bad squad, will be looking forward to seeing Jarvis bowling.

BTW can someone merge this thread with the other one.

Damn Blignaut is out, I think Zimbabwe really need someone like him in ODIs.

Yeah it's a shame that he made himself unavailable for national selection because of business comitments, but he could change his mind sooner or later. He really would be a bonus for the Zims.
