England's tour of India (Nov '16/Feb '17)

Really disappointed with these pitches. 300+ is not the new form and this is the reason we have struggled off late in foreign conditions. Pitches here support hitting till then end but overseas they tend to do more as ball gets older. We need pitches that are not like this and Pune.[DOUBLEPOST=1484852933][/DOUBLEPOST]Onto the game I was going off to sleep seeing the match starts 3 am for me but thank god I was awake. Brilliant innings from Dhoni and Yuvraj. Those tears from Yuvraj's eyes when he reached 100 showed it all. Dhoni should play like this more often and what an innings under pressure.

Watched the highlights! Pure mayhem from Yuvraj and Dhoni! Considering the point of careers both of them are in and the baggage with which they came into this series, it would do them huge disservice to put down their efforts by calling the pitch a 'road'. Yuvraj was batting amazingly. Dhoni faced more struggles while batting, but still when he opened out in the end, it was breathtaking (I know I watched it in highlights which is basically in mega fast forward mode; but some of the shots he played, I've not seen him play those for a long time). The good thing is, he started slow and kept one end tight which enabled Yuvraj to be aggressive on the other end irrespective of situation.

Fantastic bowling from Ashwin! Inspite of not playing too many LOI's in recent past, it was weird to see talk about dropping Ashwin in ODI's. Ashwin has had a pretty stop-start LOI time in recent past. He has not played ODI's with any sense of flow in recent times. Ashwin is and should be our frontline spinner in both tests and ODI's. Heck, I would keep him in T20'S too. He has become less attacking and more about outplaying the batsman (playing the patience game) but he is also intelligent enough to adapt to the pressure of speed. He became Ashwin because of T20 cricket and IPL. Ashwin took 3 most crucial wickets (Root, Stokes and Buttler). Even one less wicket for him would have meant England would have smoked down the target with ease. Priceless wickets from Ashwin!

Kumar and Bumrah need more time together. Kumar looks good and with CT and World Cup in England, its right up his alley with the kind of bowler he is. Its imperative that he is given maximum game time in ODI's in the next 2 years.

Outside edge off a slower ball goes for four over short third man. Thankfully the bat sizes will be reduced later this year.
Imagine David Warner with a lighter bat. Just imagine if he could still smash it everywhere.

Finally Rahane in for Dhawan. This is out strongest lineup today given the squad :)

Dhawan will still go to the Champion's Trophy.
He will definitely but I am sure if Rahane performs in the next 4 matches including the T20 he will cement his place. Rahane should not come into pressure today and just play normally.

Love how the ball is moving and seaming. Great start from the faster bowlers and Billings has really struggled against Bumrah. I actually like this idea of having specialist bowlers for different formats. Bumrah with his accuracy is good for LO formats so far.

A surprising move by Kohli, getting in Yuvi to bowl ahead of Jad and Ash.

Wow. They are batting really well. All set to score big. Might be tricky chase for India if they reach 300.

Once again a promising start from Roy ends. Once again gets out after looking so freaking good.

Why wasn't Ashwin dropped? Just because of his reputation?
