Have you recently updated the drivers or something? That could be one reason for the change. Anyway, if you right-click on your desktop, select properties, choose the SETTINGS tab, and then click the ADVANCED button, I'm guessing that somewhere there you should find a setting to do with VSYNC. One solution I have found is that if the game is running fast. Start up the game, unplug your laptop (so it's running on batteries) you should see the same s-l-o-w down. Close the game. Restart the laptop with the thing connected to mains again and start up cricket. Should be fine.
Not sure this will work for everyone, but works for me (try different combos of game,power, start up etc..)
