Ponting wanting a whitewash
Ricky Ponting told the press today that he wants to win the upcoming series 2-0.They have already won the 1st test and would like to make the whitewash with a win tommorro."We played well in the first game and i will want us to finish off the job in the 2nd test.Quite a lot of us are in form so i hope for a great win so we can keep good momentum heading for the ashes back in Australia in half a year."Ricky will be hoping his team can inflict damage tommorro morning to set up the rest of the test.

Teague in training
Somerset County Cricket Club went to Butleigh Cricket nets in the east of Somerset to have a relaxing day out.The team decided to go and have a relaxing day in the countryside and work on a few of their weaknesses.Mark Galloway the coach of Somerset looked at Teague closely in the nets.He said this to our reporters, "Jack is a very wristy player and likes to play square of the wicket. He defends the ball well and can play a variety of shots. But one area we will need to work on will be playing down the ground. But very promosing signs from the youngster."The team are all looking good for the new season and hope to get off to a great start against Gloucestershire in the first game of the season on the 18th of April.

Ponting dissapointed with teams performance
Ricky makes important half century

Ricky Ponting made a crucial 50 today in the 2nd test at Chittagong against Bangladesh. It started well with Hayden and langar batting well, but Hayden went for 4 to Mortaza caught by Javed Omar at short leg.Langar went next for 17 LBW to Mortaza who picked up his 2nd wicket.Ponting came in with Martyn.Martyn made 7 Before playing a stupid shot to be Mortaza's 3rd victim.Hussey came and went to Nazmul Hossain for 14.Then came a great partnership between Ponting and Clarke of 85.Clarke went on 47 to a dubious decision from the umpire and Mortaza now had 4 wickets.Ponting went through to his 50 after having a scare on 44.Gilchrist hit a six and out as he made 9 and Rysel took his 1st wicket.then Warne and Ponting put on a good partnership before warne became Mortaza's 5th wicket being bowled off stump after stepping away to give himself room, but he did make a handy 26.Lee did a great job of pretecting Ponting and made 12*.So Australia finish the day on 246/7.

Ponting spoke after the day and said this, "I am dissapointed with the way the team played and the attitude we took out onto the wicket. The Bangladeshi bowlers bowled fabulously and that is partly the rerason of our position.I am very happy with my batting and i believe i can make a big score tommorro to boost our chances."

wat does Australia have to do with Teague and Somerset? Not the Ashes

to be honest i was thinking the same. the idea is good. maybe just sticking up results though. it will be too much hassle and hard work. a good old career following you is the way to go ;)

also i have to say. i dont think ive seen a spinner career story :crying

ok from now on i will only post daily scorecards.
unless you just want results.
please let me know :)

Ponting scores massive ton
Ricky Ponting today scored a massive 194 not out as Australia made 484/8 declared.Ponting and Lee put on a massive partnership as Lee made 85 before being bowled by Aftab Ahmed.Pontind made the score in 515 balls and hit only 20 fours. This has to be the most amount of balls taken for a score less than 200.Ponting spoke to reporters about his knock.
"I believe i was in top form and brett down the other end was superb. It was a pleasure to bat out there and i believe we are now in a great position to force the follow on."Bangladesh are on 30/0 at the end of the day with Omar and nafees playing well.

Teague looking forward to his first game
Teague has said he is looking forward to his firts game against warwickshire tommorro.he said it is the perfect game against a good strong team to start his career off.He is hoping to prove his coach garaway that he can bat and bowl and become a great star for the future.

games from around the country
A few games were played around the country as the domestic season got underway.here are a few of the best games with Lancashire,Kent and leicestershire starting well with tight wins.lancashire and Glamorgan had the tightest game as lancashire made 236/6 off the 45 overs.Glamorgan replied by making 230/4 and missed out by 6 runs.kent made 228 in their first innings and in reply Derbyshire made 214/7 but couldn't overcome Kent's score.Leicestershire made 210 in a low scoring game but Durham couldn't make those runs and losing by 21 runs.

The awaited game for the two teams to see if they can get off to a great start. They will be playing at Edgbaston where many famous games have been played and today could be one of them going down to the wire.Lets go and have a look at the pitch.
The pitch looks good and seems to be a perfect batting pitch. It's nice and warm so the bowlers may need short stints. The weather is sunny and the pitch will bounce evenly so definatley a batsmans pitch.Trescothick has won the toss and decided to bat first which is no surprise.
Somerset have put out a strong team with Trescothick and Wood opening the batting. The key really holds with the middle order though with White,Hildreth,Teague and Blackwell.White and Hildreth will need to bat sensibly and hopefully we can see some big hitting from the dubutant Teague and Blackwell. The bowling will be crucial on this batting wicket and Willoughby and Caddick will need to start off well.Cullen will definatley in contention to get a few wickets on here if the ball turns.
Warickshire have gone for the more defensive side with not many big hitters.Powell will be hitting out if he gets a bat but the key will be with Knight who will be opening and Ian Bell at number 3.Wagh opens and trott will bat 4.They have left Troughton out but Brown will take his place.Giles will play and Carter and pretorious will need to start the game off well for warwickshire with the new ball.

Good luck Teague. This looks interesting. Good to see Binga getting some runs.
