This is my first attempt at a story, and it will be done on Cricket 05 and will be a 3 test series between Australia and New Zealand. Please give opinions on idea and presentation. Cheers.

Teams.jpg

MN: Good Morning all and welcome to Adelaide, I'm Mark Nicolas and welcome the marvelous setting of the first test of this enthralling series between Australia and New Zealand. This is a hotly anticipated series involving two of the great sides in world cricket today. Its due to be a close series, what do you think Michael Slater ?

MS: Morning Mark, This has been a series i have been waiting in anticipation for, the big clash. Both sides will be biting at the bit to get a piece of each other, and neither will want to lose a vital match. I do feel, that with Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne deciding that they will stay on for 1 final international season is going to be vital to this australia attack. Stephen Fleming's side will be wanting to upset things though and get an early breakthrough in the series.

MN: Indeed, its set to be a massive series for both sides. The Australia squad was announced last week and included some interesting selections. For one, Phil Jaques was selected, the young opening batsman is seen as the replacement for one Justin Langer. What do you think of this selection Geoffrey ?

GB: I think its a very good selection by the Australia selectors. Jaques is a very technically gifted player and is a very old school opener, the sort of opener that we had in my day, not like all this powerplay nonsense that you see today.

MS: Woah there Geoffrey, its only the first morning of the series, calm down mate. I agree with Geoffrey though, its a very good selection for the squad. Phil is a natural talent, and much in the Justin Langer suit, with a similar range of strokes and alot of natural ability.

MN: Another interesting inclusion was that of Adam Voges. The spinning all rounder is widely regarded in Australia, and seems as though he has a good future in the side. Anyway, lets show you that australian squad in full.

MN: Now that we've seen that squad we can go down to pitch side, where Michael Holding is ready with the coin, set for the toss.

MH: Thankyou Mark, I'm here with team captains Ricky Ponting and Stephen Fleming and match referee Ranjit Madagali.

*coin goes up, Fleming calls Heads*

RM: Its a heads

MH: Stephen, its a heads, you've won the toss, what are you going to do ?

SF: It looks a good surface, nice even bounce, not too grassy, looks good, we're going to have a bat, and look to post a good first innings total.

MH: Daniel Vettori was a doubt for the first test, how has he shaped up ?

SF: Yeh, Daniel was a doubt but hes come through fine and is raring to go.

MH: Thankyou Stephen. Ricky, what do you think about that ?

RP: Its not the ideal start, but i'm sure Brett and Glenn will be able to overcome the flat deck and get us some early wickets. Its not compeltely bad, obviously we'd have preferred to bat first and get a good start but you cant have it all your own way.

MH: You must be glad to be able to call on Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne's services again ?

RP: Yeh, we're thrilled to have the guys back, they both were bowling so well in first class cricket and we just approached them and asked them if they'd be interested in coming back, and its safe to say, they were thrilled to come back. Glenn is looking as fit as ever and Shane the same. Our bowling attack is looking very fine indeed.

MH: Thankyou Ricky. So the toss has been won by Stephen Fleming, New Zealand are going to bat first. Back to the studio.

MN: Thanks Mikey. With the toss complete lets get down to the action !!

A very nice start and good presentation early. Good luck with this mate

Cheers guys, i'm 7 overs away from the first update, but annoyingly, my bat patch has gone abit crazy and the bats are just randomly generated now, which is very annoying. But i'll stick with it, its not too big a problem. Next update should be posted this morning, with the first session completed.

Gud luck mate with this story..... I am backing up Kiwis :)

IB: Lee storming in again to Marshall, lees getting some good bounce here. That one has bounced come off the splice of the bat, CAUGHT by McGrath. A devistating spell from Brett Lee results in another Kiwi wicket going down. Hamish Marshall was well set on 44 and should really have lasted until lunch. He will be distraught.

MC (Martin Crowe): Indeed, Hamish will be really annoyed at himself. It was a good innings but he should have gone on, further dissapointment for New Zealand. New Zealand 84-4.

IB: Thats lunch here at Adelaide, after the break we'll take you back to the studio where we'll here analysis from Mark Nicholas, Geoffrey Boycott and Michael Slater.

MN: Welcome back to the studio, its been a thrilling first session here at Adelaide. Its been a session for Stephen Fleming to forget, his team, after 30 overs are at 86-4, after losing early wickets thanks to a thrilling spell from Brett Lee. What do you think boys ?

GB: Its been all australia, they havent given New Zealand a chance, they stormed out of the blocks and have shown why they're the best team in the world. The only resistance came from the lad Marshall. He scored well, but only managed 44 before throwing his wicket away. If New Zealand are going to win this series, they need to convert starts into 100's, if you dont score hundreds against Australia you dont stand a chance.

MS: Geoffrey's right, Australia have batsman, the likes of Ponting, Hayden, Hussey and others, that have brilliant conversion rates, and to keep up with them you need at least 2 batsman to get a hundred. Its been a pretty poor batting performance from New Zealand but lets not take any credit away from the bowlers. McGrath bowled 12 overs on the spin, something that is no mean feat, and was very unlucky not to get a wicket. Lee chipped in with 3 wickets from his 10 overs, wickets which are invaluable for Australia. Warne also chipped in with a wicket in his 8 over spell.

MN: Indeed, we cannot take anything away from the magnificent Aussie bowlers, Lee bowled one of the best spells i've ever seen from him, he was magnificent. Anyway, lets take a look at the scorecards so far, here are the batting and bowling scorecards for each team:

MN: Welcome back to the studio. Its been an enthralling 2nd 30 overs, and a great one for Australia. New zealand bowled out for 151 in 53 overs and then ending the first 7 overs of the reply unbeaten. A great first day for Australia so far. Before we continue the analysis, lets take a look at the scorecards.

AussieBowling1st.jpg

MN: As you can see, its been a brilliant start for Australia, With Lee taking 5 wickets for 52 runs and the top scorer, Scott Styris only managing 49. The New Zealand camp will be bitterly dissapointed with that performance, but will feel that their bowlers, led by Shane Bond will be able to salvage the situation.

MS: Yes, i its been a cracking start for Australia, all 4 bowlers bowled brilliantly and everyone chipped in with at least 1 wicket. The top order for New Zealand just failed badly, managing only 15 runs between the 3 of them. They were helped by a good middle order revival from Marshall and Styris but the lower middle order and lower order just failed miserably.

GB: New Zealand will be bitterly dissapointed, they are professionals, they should be doing better than this. This has been a disgrace from New Zealand, their fans deserve a refund because of this atrocious show. The only bright point is that Scott Styris managed a decent score, but its nothing more than decent. They will just have to hope that the inconsistent Bond has a good day and manages a few early wickets, but from the way Hayden started, that looks doubtful.

MN: SO its been a marvelous start for Australia in the bowling department, and the key member of that bowling quartet was Brett Lee. His 5-53 was a marvelous display of pace bowling. A brilliant performance from the Aussie pace bowler.

MN: We also got to see 7 overs of the Australian reply, how did you think that went Geoffrey ?

GB: Finally some batting prowess, Hayden showed why he is opening the batting for this team. In that 7 overs he batted marvelously, he didnt just sit back and stop the ball hitting the stumps, in true Hayden fashion he went after the bowling and hit some marvelous shots. Phil Jaques didnt play the best, he was trying to match Haydens stroke making and edged 1 ball and was lucky to escape.

MN: What was your view Michael ?

MS: I agree, a brilliant start from Matty. It was just business as usual as far as he was concerned, he hit that marvelous cover drive for 4, a lovely lofted pull shot for 4 and also that drive through point. 3 marvelous shots. Jaques also joined in, he hit a lovely lofted stroke through deep mid wicket for 4. A great start.

MN: OK thanks boys, lets see some of the highlights of that Aussie 7 overs and also see the scorecard. Then back to the action.

i can sense a poor cricket from NZ :( Also, Warny and McGill in same match which is what very interesting. lol.. also, it seems, no one can control Hayden in game too apart from real life :laugh

Btw, Superb presentation mate.. Well done. One question, interesting to see another star sports giving me a company :D Can i just know, where did you download this from? The one which i am using is Argha's and it seems to be bit different from what you using.

Its just the cricket 05 one from the planet cricket download center, it does look very nice. Not sure why the bat pack has screwed up though, may need to reinstall all the bats and roster. Not a huge problem, i would like the correct bats for the story.

Next update will come probably later tonight, sneak info, Ponting is in. ;)

Poor batting from NZ but nice presentation from you . Keep up the good work . Ponting will be the key here (now dont ask who will be the lock) :D
