I was on the expedition in the Peak District, and we were climbing to the top of a 1,500foot mountain via a stream, and as I was climbing the rocks, I placed my left foot on the rock to get up, then, when I lifted my right foot and the weight of my body went onto my left ankle, it slipped, and I hit my knee on a rock. I didn't think anything of it, so I carried on for another hour and half to the top, and another 2 hours back down,it was still hurting so I thought I had just banged my knee, I managed to get back to college, and then I got a lift to work, when i was in work I was getting changed, I noticed a huge pile of blood on the inside of my traksuit's leg, I looked at my knee and I had a gash on it, so I got some plasters and put it on and started working with Rachel, but then about 30 mins later it was still bleeding and it was trickling down my leg, so I went to see the first aider and she cleaned it up and then shouted "Ewwww!" I looked down and there was a puncture hole in the side of my knee, and whenever my skin moved, blood pumped out! So I went to hospital as the first aider said. I got there, had an x-ray and I had suffered tissue damage and somehow the rock had pierced a perfect hole about 10mm across and 6mm down, and when she fully cleaned it, I could see the muscle in my knee through the hole in my knee!!!
So I have got to ring my manager today and ask him what times I am working next week, so I am now doing nothing this weekend, I have now got to sit around at home with my knee banadaged up and extremly strong pain killers, great...
