Exactly. Hayden was a calculating assassion who always came in with a direct gameplan and strategy to how he was going to play particular bowlers. Sehwag however, is just a bonefied slogger.

Saying something like that is plain unfair on Sehwag. He is a very good batsman.

Says who? He's the best test wicket-keeper batsman of all time.
He was the weakest batsman in the Australian team when we were in our prime. Why do you think he batted at number 7?

But his not in the same class as Tendulkar, Lara, Ponting, Dravid, Kallis, Hayden and Pietersen.

Nobody's denying that. But Haydos is a bit ahead of him when it comes to consistency or playing according to the situation.

No, I don't agree with you on this point. He is at least ahead of KP.

Some people don't fully understand just how good KP actually is. I never really did realise it either. I do know though. I feel he is the silent achiever of the modern era as many don't rate him to high in the test arena.

He's good but hes got fair bit to go before we make a full judgment, its only been like 5yrs since came to international team.

Yeah, and I agree with Ben that he is a potential all-time legend. But because we cant make a full judgment just yet it's not fair to say he is behind certain players. He is probably just as good as they were when they were at his stage of their career. Plus he has carried a pretty poor England team over the last few years, and has already taken on the responsibilities of captaining his national side.

I can't believe why people think Hayden was one of the all-time greats. Good yes, but not great.

His statistics are not that amzing given the amount of runscoring in the last ten years.

Hutton and Gavaskar have better claims.

I'd rate Neil Harvey above Hayden, they had more difficult pitches in the old days and no BANG/ZIM. Just look at the contemporary comparisons.

A monkey at the cricket: Harvey vs Hayden

Not that Sehwag is a great either.
If Hayden's statistics aren't that amazing given the amount of run scoring of the last decade then why is Hayden the 2nd leading run-scorer of this decade?

Your article is fasical and your editting of Matthew Hayden's wikipedia page is pathetic aswell. Your article only tells one half of the story and you forgot to mention how India and Pakistan were minnows during the era that Harvey played in. It's arguably harder to face off the new ball in the modern era then it is to bat in the middle-order of any other era.

Actions speak louder then words as Hutten never played ODI whilst Gavaskar is arguably one of the most selfish cricketers of all-time. Once in the World Cup match against England in 1976, Gavaskar carried his bat and finished 36 not out off 175 balls faced in a 60 over match. India were chasing over 300 to win aswell. Later Gavaskar's excuse was that he couldn't come to terms with the conditions. Biggest load of rubbish ever.

You think Sehwag is better than Ponting???? You really are bias then...... He is an arrogant looking bugger and I hate him lots, but Ponting is a superb batsman, easily better than Sehwag

EDIT - Actually I would take a Dravid in his prime form days over Sehwag
