IPL IPL Player Auction 2011

We also have the following India capped players left (whatever I can remember):

Saurabh Tiwary
Abhishek Nayar
Munaf Patel
Praveen Kumar
Ashish Nehra

I think some people underestimate how good McCullum is at T20, people say he's inconsistent, but he has 3 or 4 T20 100's for gods sake. Fleming looked interested in the New Zealand players, does he have a say on who they bid on?

He's probably the best T20 keeper in the world, on both ability and stats, I know there are a few train spotters out there who'll name someone better stats wise, but 40 T20I matches at an average of 33, and a S/R of 128.

He has really struggled in India though, in ODI cricket he averages just 24 there.

Manish Pandey is an uncapped player and so he is not part of the auction. Didnt you read the Cricinfo article about the unfair rule brought up by the franchises on uncapped players? Manish Pandey's name featured in it.

Quite a ridiculous rule. But, I guess it increases the chances of Pandey returning to RCB. :) He'll probably get offers from every team though - so will Rayudu.

Only Tiwari is worth anything.

Everyone would be wondering, why Gayle wasn't sold but the reason behind that West Indies have a home series against Pakistan from Apr 21-May 24. (Exactly clashing with the crucial time of the tournament)

Delhi have made an absolute jackass of themselves . Not only have they waited patiently wasting quality players , but also signed a nothing player for t20s in Irfan pathan .

Kochi doing a farely decent job

Deccan and RCB have been brilliant

CSK will be watching closely

MI and KKR decent

RCB can be branded as "Royal challengers delhi" . They have retained a delhi player in Kohli and now signed 3 DD players in Dilshan , de villiers and vettori

You cannot predict participation of foreign players so they will not be bidden high.
True that, I never thought of that actually.

I wonder who will be the Miami Heat of the IPL. I reckon RCB, they got Vettori quite cheap and their other players are brilliant. Kochi are in a good position too.

But because he didn't sign his WI contract, doesn't that mean he can go off and play in the IPL even if WI are playing?

For KKR, Ganguly going unsold will work out very well wont it? Afterall all he in of their catchment area. So they can always grab him up (for whatever prices both agree to).. i wuld differ wid those saying gambhir was not worth the purchase. With Gambhir and Kallis... you have 2 players that will be consistent. Add to it the firepower of Yusuf Pathan. KKR luks good.

Ganguly and catchment area? He is an international player though he has retired. I dont think Ganguly gets into that catchment area and stuff.

Well McCullum has been pretty horrible in IPL matches since his debut, so I think what he got was pretty fair.

i think chennai will have to go for swanny given they lost the services of ashwin and murali (though there are chances for them to re-sign with CSK) . If things dont go their way , then swann is the best option as far as their spin department is concerned

Mumbai is team to beat already.
